The parenting book from the mother of Britney and Jamie Lynn Spears.

"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this."  -Dale Cooper

This recounts the final chapter in the good doctors life as he lives out his last few years in the old psychos home.

Nurse; Good Morning Doctor Lecter!  How are we on this beautiful day?

Lecter; I'll Eat your liver with some fava bean and a nice Chianti!

Nurse; Now you know you're not allowed alcohol and fava beans give you gas.

Lecter; (Hisses menacingly)

Nurse; Well if you're going to take that attitude I'll take away your teeth and then We won't be eating anyone's liver now will We?

In my mind it's very important that the nurse is Terry Jones playing a woman.

Right, but we're talking about a book here, not a movie. You can't start thinking about the movie before the book is written, because that... well that would mean you're Thomas Harris. Damn.

Twin Peaks Choose Your Own Adventure (I used to read the hell out of those cheesy books when I was a kid)

If you want to order coffee, turn to page 12.

If you want to order huckleberry pie and hit on Toad, turn to page 59.

I am more than willing to enter into negotiations for the film rights that I don't own for a book that doesn't exist.

It might help if you watched too much T.V. in the 70's

Then again it might not.

Harry Pothead and the Philosopher Stoner

Harry Pothead and the Chamber Pipe of Secrets

Harry Pothead and the Prisoner of Anslinger

Harry Pothead and the Chalice of Fire

Harry Pothead and the Odor of the Phoenix

Harry Pothead and the Half Ounce Prince

and

Harry Pothead and (I just can't figure it out! HELP!)

These actually were well on their way to being written when a voice in my head said "If you write it they will sue." to which I said "Hey, the voices can give good advice!"  It was to be the story of the intrepid Harry Pothead who just want's to go through school nicely baked but is thwarted by the machinations of the evil Lord Boggartmort.  Ah well, I'll just have to dream of the glory that might have been.

You could add Joe Hill to that list.  He is Stephen King's son and his surprisingly ultra-hyped book Heart Shaped Box blew so much ass I quit reading it after about 300 pages or so.

On the cover is an illustration of a Rottweiler with a toddlers leg sticking out of its mouth. The title? Bad Dog Carl of course.
