Nuart is the name of the theater in L.A. where "Eraserhead" played as the midnight movie for many moons.  Same place where "Pink Flamingos" had a similar lengthy run.  It's a great theater.  I see it every time I exit the 405 Freeway at Santa Monica Blvd. and thought it was a good name.

My username comes simply from the character LMFAP in TP...actor Michael Anderson...thought the little dancing dude was an intriguing character, so decided to call myself LittleMike on here

Mine has nothing to do with Frank or Judas Booth. It's true.
But it means nothing.

Largely irrelevant but how do you say it? Is it the 'ooth' quick like tooth or slow like soothe?

We should put this thread in the FAQ section where it won't have to be restarted every few months.

Having said that, mine is the result of programming network routers and switches for too long on the day I signed up here.

Well, mine isn't as cool as the rest of yours stories.  Smeds is a knickname I aquired in college.  My last name is Smedlund and everyone took to calling me Smeds.  When I moved out to Minnesota, all the people I worked with called me Smeds, and some called me Klinger (Toledo/M*A*S*H reference).  When I moved back to Ohio, people started calling me Smeds.  So, even though I hated it for a VERY long time, the knickname has stuck with me and has become some of my screen names.

Mine comes from "invitation to Love" segments of TP. I thought it might make me sound like a retired pornstar or a fading wrestler. Also, DL is from Montana, so that's a nice link.

Like rocksandbottles and 12rainbow, I pulled mine from a favorite part of the show. That was when Coop explains to the waitress at the Great Northern he likes his juice - grapefruit i think it was - "freshly squeezed" just as Audrey Horne walks in about to ask to join him. That was a sweet and charming scene which i thought to juxtapose with my avatar, Ronette wandering back from the train car after a wild night in the wild with Bob. Doesn't look freshly squeezed but you might say she has been. The poem by the American Wallace Stevens is about beauty, sexual desire and death and relates to the title and the avatar in a way but brings something else too. Written before Twin Peaks it seems to me to be an uncanny reflection of the Twin Peaks story of Laura Palmer.

When I'm not trying too hard, i'm jealous of other people. :-)

Beauty is momentary in the mind -
The fitful tracing of a portal;
But in the flesh it is immortal.
The body dies; the body's beauty lives.
So evenings die, in their green going,
A wave, interminably flowing.
So gardens die, their meek breath scenting
the cowl of winter, done repenting.
So maidens die, to the auroral
Celebration of a maiden's choral.
Susanna's music touched the bawdy strings
Of those white elders; but, escaping,
Left only Death's ironic scraping.
Now in its immortality, it plays
On the clear viol of her memory,
And makes a constant sacrement of praise.

('Peter Quince at the Clavier' by Wallace Stevens)

i believe you're confused, i heard somewhere that MIKE. IS. THE MAN.

mine is from dune, it's a character that jack nance plays, but i like his character in the books even more. he's this underling kind of guy, but he's pretty good at his job (he managed to work for the baron without getting murdered), and he's addicted to this bizzare music/drug combination called "semuta." he thinks no one knows he's addicted, but it's common knowledge around carthag :)

it's a really effective way of meeting people i actually want to talk to on larger message boards. anyone who recognizes the name has gotta be worth something. :)
