I always hear about how there are no good roles for women. What do you think would be a good role for women to play and that would make money? I know a few years back women were complaining about it but the films with women as the lead seemed to flop. Do you think it was because people didn't want to see women in lead roles or that the writing or directing was bad? One movie that comes to mind is The River Wild which was a major flop. Movies that seem to make money with the woman as the lead are love stories and as the survivor girl in horror movies. But many women say that those are not good roles and are stereotypes. One movie that was a huge hit with women as the lead was the film Sex In The City, but they say that 95% of the people who saw it was women. What are some roles that you think both men and women would support and that are not the typical Hollywood sterotypes? Do you think stereotypes are a bad thing?

Well, I liked the Tomb Raider movies a lot. I think the Lara Croft character is really cool - both for the male and female viewers, but I don't know... What about Silence of the Lambs? Aren't Clarice the main character? I think that one was a big hit too... hmm...

Just saw Alan Ball's latest, Towelhead, about the sexual/social turmoil caused by a half caucasian half Lebanese 13-year-old young woman in Texas in the early '90s. The older teen actress is fabulous. Great turns by Aaron Eckhardt & Toni Collette.

Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus is a movie that flew under the radar. A great role for Nicole Kidman, portraying the American photographer who loved as subjects those on the fringes of society. In the 50's and 60's taking black and white shots of circus freaks, nudists, twins, transvestites, working class people in weird settings. In the film Robert Downey Jr. plays a masked man who moves into her apartment house, with a condition that covers him in fur from head to toe. I love this film. Then of course there was The Hours, with Kidman AND Streep AND Julianne Moore. Woman's movie cubed!

I don't think any of the parts that anyone mentioned are bad, but then again, I like the survivor girl in the horror movies.
