Oh gosh, I like so many horror movies I don't know if I could choose a favorite.  I don't really like some of the no budget horror coming out now.  I know it is people trying to break in into the film industry and some of them are good, but others it is like they don't even try.

I really like the Friday The 13th movies and the Halloween movies (except for part 3)  But I also like the classics as well, like The Wolf Man, Dracula, etc... The only horror movie that really scared me though was the orginal Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but I saw it when I was 11.

Halloween, The Thing, and Poltergeist.

I'd like to say The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but it's been a while since I saw it.
Alien is considered a horror movie, right?

It's a "haunted house... in space" movie, so yeah.

My favorites include the above, plus Wes Craven's New Nightmare, Halloween, and though it just skirts the edge of the genre, American Psycho. Admittedly, the list of Horror flicks that I've liked is a short one.

Apocalypse Now is my favorite "the horror, the horror" film.

Halloween and Halloween II, The Bride, Dracula (With Gary Oldman), Pet Semetary, Christine, Pumpkinhead, JAWS, Night of the Living Dead (for some reason I like the 1990 version), Friday the 13th (the first for sure, maybe the second...), The Lost Boys, Amercian Werewolf in London *Even though I find most parts hilarious*...

Koreans seem to have the horror genre nailed. It's better than the Japanese "Oooh, that girls got long hair and is pale as fuck" style. Films like A Tale Of Two Sisters, Spider Forest, and Memories scare the shit out of me on a more psychological level rather than "here's a ghost, scary innit?".

I have a feeling that many people here will dig Spider Forest. Very Mulholland Drive-esque, but spookier.

Aliens & Near Dark would make a killer double bill, as 3 actors (Paxton, Henricksen & Goldstein) are common to both. Space horror & modern vampire, 2 great tastes that would taste great together!!!

Watched about half of an Elvira presents film called Werewolf of Washington, with Dean Stockwell as a presidential speechwriter turned lycanthrope, who's killing all these prominent D.C. folk.  It's pretty Velveeta-like, & he is definitely not one suave you- know- what in this one!!!

Halloween (original) - I don't think we appreciate how groundbreaking it was at the time it was released (I was 3).

Blair Witch Project - Don't get it why some hate this. Saw it opening night and the directors went the scariest route possible by making what you don't see horrifying (use your imagination!).

Friday the 13th film series - Gotta love teens in trouble, gratuitous nudity, and great kills.

The Descent - Recent indy flick with some insane "make you jump" scares.

FWWM - I still stand by BOB being the scariest figure in TV and film history. Nothing rattled me like him.

Agreed. I mean, today you play it and it's fairly dated, but for me that actually adds a bit of charm to it. :) Anyway, the thing I always appreciated about this movie was the fact that it could be frightening without being outrageous or gory. One "horror" film that always scared the crap out of me (though these days it just gives me a bit of the heebie-jeebies) is the original "The Haunting." That film was much the same way...it made you scare yourself silly with the images it provoked in your mind. I remember as a child having the most vivid nightmares that stemmed from that film, only they all took place in my own house. I was so unnerved by our house at night for many years. Awesome. :)

the 1st time I have seen the original film halloween, my oldest sis took me to some drive in theatre, off jacksboro highway, then she drove me to her house , left me there & she  went to work at night, her home was freaky, she loves to collect freaky stuff, but one thing is she had see through/shear curtains & I was just so scared, had a few prank calls & I just couldn't sleep that night! that's one of the fave films  of mine besides the old black & white frankestein/dracula films,

Alien followed by maybe Nightmare On Elm Street, which is no Zombie Strippers but still a pretty good scare, or was when I saw it back on Easter Sunday of '85?  Whatever year it was released.  Some one had the bright idea to bring a group of 20-30 kids, like 10, 11 or 12 to it.  I'm guessing there were some freaked kids and some pissed parents that night.

Has anyone seen Zombie Strippers? I wonder if it could possibly be as bad as it sounds.
