Hey all--I have a special request; we are searching for a recipe for the Black Yukon Sucker Punch. I know it was posted here about 2 years ago. If you still have it, we'd much appreciate it.

Thanks!!! Annie

The recipe for the Black Yukon Sucker Punch is why I joined this site! I second the request: if anybody has a recipe for this it would be greatly appreciated.

2 years ago we were brainstorming ideas for one.  People have asked this so much I used to link the question back to the last, which would contain a link to the last, which would... you get my drift.  Someone just needs to bust out their WowoW Visual Soundtrack VHS and post the recipe in the FAQ!

(I'm going home for Christmas break where all my Japanese TP tapes are, so if no one has theirs handy, I'll take one for the team and post it.)

Until then, let's come up with our own again. That was fun.  I'll start:

in a mug:

1 1/2 oz of Yukon Jack

fill 3/4 with Hot black coffee

fill the rest of the way with black raspberry liqueur

float 1/2 oz. of Godiva (or Mozart, or the like) chocolate liqueur on top- may substitute with chocolate syrup

Do you remember which part it's on? I'm lazy but if you can recall more or less where on the video it's at, I'll look it up today. :)

Wow, that would be great, Amanda! I thought you'd given up.

Looking forward to it.

P.S. Jerry Horne says it is not on the Japanese Tapes.

No - I said it was not on the Visual Soundtrack. It is located on the WoWow Twin Peaks marathon on Japanese television. However, the film crew simply goes into a bar in North Bend and asks the waitress there to make it. It's much lighter in color than what we see on screen and has no froth. Unless the recipe is discovered on some official Lynch/Frost paperwork, then there may be no official recipe. However, here is what is presented:

Pour 1 shot Yukon Jack

Pour 1 shot Blackberry Brandy

Dash of Bitters

Put in blender with ice

Blend about 5 seconds

Who will try first?

OMG, at long last, and there it is (!!!)

God, that sounds harsh. Whiskey, bitters and brandy?!  That's a true mountain man's drink.  I would be down for the count after just one of those.

(The catalog I ordered from lumped all the WowoW stuff into a listing called Visual Soundtrack.)

By the way, the bartender calls it a Black Yukon SUPER punch. I think it's up to everyone to come up with a recipe of their own. For the show, it looks like they just mixed Coke, Blue soda and cough syrup and blended it. I really don't think this is a hot drink. Everyone should follow Coop's advise and sit and stare then play around with it like it's from Mars. You'll notice he never drinks it.

I think at one point we'd decided that it contained blue curacao. Could that still be the case? That recipe above sounds simply wretched. I'd probably get it halfway down and have to relax with a cig first before knocking back the rest. I bet it fights you all the way.

"Sucker" = "Super" in Engrish, I believe.

It is also a possibility that the WowoW writers just preferred the happier sounding Super to the sucky sounding Sucker.

Hi lonely souls!

So I got some new elements on the Black Yukon Sucker Punch recipe.

It's the original Sucker Punch recipe. Chek it out at barnonedrinks.com.

It says 2 oz vodka, a splash of cranberry juice, 1 oz  sour apple schnapps, and seven up.

So we can figure the vodka is swapped for Yukon Jack (or it could be vodka AND Yukon Jack),

and the cranberry juice is replaced by blue or blackberry juice/syrup (or even liquor as suggested above -- but that might be a bit strong) (because of the blue foam).

I think the 7up remains (since using cola would be too greater a variant and would have a different name), but there is no way to be sure. What's for sure is that a sparkling soda is used.

And don't think neither coffee, nor Khalua (nor Curaçao) are used.

Now all we have to do is try various combos.

May the tastier and the one that really "sneaks up on you" wins!

c u round the woods ;)
