Breaking news. or something like that. Can't even find a solid link to an article on it yet.

I studied Pinter the semester before last, but I'll always remember him for writing the screenplay for a strange little TV film called The Room (not related to the play by that name) starring a very young Julian Sands opposite Annie Lennox. I rented it from Blockbuster with a friend when I was 10 or 11, and we made fun of it's meaningless dialogue endlessly (eg. "Why is it dark? Because there's no light.") - but I think I'd like it now that I "get" absurdity more.

Sure it is. I haven't seen the movie but the characters' names are the same so it's at least related in that sense.

They're also related in that Pinter wrote them both, and there are other plot similarities. Oddly, they are different stories.

I didn't hear 'Santa Baby' once this year and am sad.

I did, however, hear I Want to be Evil after she died, which I had never heard before;

"Prim and proper, the girl who's never been cased,
I'm tired of being pure and not chased.
Like something that seeks it's level
I wanna go to the devil."

and am happy.

And, bat wings at half staff caped crusaders, we morn the passing of a Cat Woman.

RIP EK, hope you enjoyed the ride.
