For me, The Simpsons started to get worse around the tenth or eleventh seasons. For a long time, it was easily the best show, and the best written show on television. I suppose it's difficult to remain at that level forever. Is it just me, or does it seem like the last few seasons have all been written by Tina Fey? I was disappointed by the movie as well. When "Spider-Pig" is the best thing they can come up with for a whole feature film, you know it's the beginning of the end!
Ben: "We've laid in a gala reception for your fair-haired boys tonight. All of Twin Peaks' best and brightest." Jerry: "We're holding it in a phone booth?"

Considering that 30 rock is much better than The Simpsons has been in at least a decade, no.
Spider pig was as awful as everything else in the movie.

It just seemed to me that Fey might be doing the writing, because of all the liberal propaganda and anti-Christian content of the last few seasons or so.
As far as Spider Pig goes, I meant that sarcasticly. Spider Pig was as bad as everything else in the movie. As cool as it was to see The Simpsons on the big screen, I felt cheated and wanted my ten bucks back!

Watched the South Park episode recently about the image of Mohammed appearing on The Family Guy. They really rip on FG because Trey & Matt really do hate that stupid show! And they found out that FG's fellow Fox writers on The Simpsons & King of The Hill hate it even more! Bart even has a cameo on this episode. I know there's a bunch of FG fans out there (this is America, where no one ever went broke underestimating ,,,blah blah blah), but it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who scratches his head furiously at what is STILL a lame Simpsons rip-off...

the simpsons does suck, its been bad for at least 5 years...but i still watch it out of habit. like when you meet up wit a friend from school, but all you hav in common are vague memories of better times, and nothing else...
