Bravo! to Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and T. Bone Burnett for five grammys including Best Album of the Year for Raising Sand.  I love this album!

 True this- very deserved.

I watched pretty much the whole show- thought there were generally good performances but few great ones.  I thought Radiohead's was probably my favorite.  Coldplay was also good.  Bo Didley tribute was pretty cool as well.

Anyone catch the Jonas Brothers messing up the lyrics when they were playing with Stevie Wonder.  little punks!

A couple of no shows --Chris Brown with assault charge against him. It is probably with the other no show Brown girlfriend Rihanna.

Here is an account by I Don't Like You In That Way This is not 100 percent verified:

Here's the deal: Last night, at 7PM, seventeen-year-old Chris Brown turned himself in to authorities who were investigating him for allegedly assaulting an unidentified woman the night before. This caused him to miss his performance at the Grammys.

Rihanna, Chris' boyfriend also missed her performance, adding to the ever-building crappiness of the Grammys that only Radiohead, a drumline and "The Rap Pack" could save. This lead to speculation that Rihanna was the assault victim, though only The Los Angeles Times was reporting it this morning. That">Radar Online shat himself when he received a statement so long, it must have been in a random e-mail:

"It was some time after 12PM PST [Sunday] and I had been waiting in the ER department corridor when Rihanna was brought through the back entrance on a gurney, flanked by two LAPD officers. It was impossible to know it was her at first because when they wheeled her past me, she had the hood on her fuchsia-colored sweatshirt tightly drawn round her face and she was wearing big brown sunglasses. They took her into room 14 which was opposite me. It had a six-foot glass door but the nurses drew a privacy curtain around it."

"I knew the person was famous because of all the attention she was being given by security and medical staff. However, they didn't draw the curtain all the time and I was finally able to make out that the woman they had brought in was Rihanna. She was lying in bed. While the two police officers waited outside, Rihanna was seen by the doctor. When he left, a plain clothes officer in a mismatched suit went in.
I figured he was a detective because I saw the handcuffs in his belt. He stayed in there for about an hour."

"When he left, Rihanna's two female assistants went in to see her and a private security guard stood outside. The police officers were given room 10 to use which was close to Rihanna's.
"Rihanna was clearly very upset by what had happened and I could hear her screaming. Rihanna was trying to get her point across about something, she sounded like she was crying as she tried to get to put her point across."

"Her staff was also very shaken by what had happened. Later on I saw one of the assistants crying into the shoulder of the security guard. I left at 4pm, happy to get out of the place, something terrible had clearly happened to Rihanna."

Since then, Brown posted $50,000 in bail and Rihanna's people still aren't confirming OR denying anything.

Yeah, nothing's being said at the moment. We have BBC Radio 1 on at work, and they have a news update every hour. They keep finishing the report of him being absent from the Grammy's with "He was accused of hitting a WOMAN. And RIHANNA didn't show up either". I don't know why they don't come straight out and say "We think he beat HER up!". If you finish any accusations with the word "allegedly" over here, you can say pretty much anything.

There is kind of a law about revealing victims' names, although I think the media outlets have a pretty good case that it is public knowledge who got beat up.

Is chris brown really 17? christ.

The guy doesn't have any credibility as far as i'm concerned because he shares both his first name and surname with my Dad. And my Dad is the real-life version of Del Boy from Only Fools And Horses (if you're familiar with the show, you'll understand why).

I heard it from a reliable source (sure...) that they had a fight over a text message re/a booty call to HIM and that SHE got peeved and threw the keys to the rental Lamborghini out onto someone's Hancock Park lawn and HE said he was gonna kill HER.  Grrrrr, what a tempestuous duo!

Then Monday night there was one of our famous freeway chases featuring a white Bentley and lots of CHP and LAPD officers followed by news choppers and paparazzi vehicles.  The police had reported a suicidal individual leaving the scene of a domestic dispute and the word was that it was Chris Brown.  After an OJ-style SLOW speed chase, the whole shebang came to an end at Universal City.  There were throngs of onlookers who had gathered to watch the end game.  The 3 + hour chase was blacked out on all the TV channels because the guy shot himself in the head.  Only it wasn't Chris Brown.
