 Bump.

I need to find a sugar momma.

No, that article said she needed to get married.  My 2 thoughts are unrelated.

My ex confessed, with no small amount of shame, to playing his roomate's Xbox before I showed up today. Everyone's entitled to indulging a vice, now and then, I guess.

I have two more things I forgot on my list:

9) has never visited a hooker

10) has never spent money at a strip club (bachelor parties are acceptable)

I seemed to have skipped 5, too. Hmmm, let's see...

5) Does not wear my dresses or use my beauty products

8) I won't rule out an occasional beer drinker, but moderate to heavy beer drinking leads to some repulsive side-effects: beer breath, beer bellies, beer farts.

**EDIT: I am very intrigued about the bachelor party story. Sometimes I really feel like I'm missing out, not being a dude myself.**

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that a man with penises in every orifice moaning "I love this" is less hetero than football.

Every day I make a promise to myself to keep the witty banter classy on here and it always goes south.

(My irony never slips past you, Booth.)

So  I'm reading a  text on long and short term human mating behavior. It compiled the results of scientific  studies and interpreted them using social contruction, evolutionary, and psychoanalytic theory  I'm at the part about masculine and feminine social scripts, who adheres to them, and why. It's really fascinating and relates a lot to this thread.  Here's a synopsis thus far:

The things about stereotypes, according to research, it that we always think the groups we don't belong to are more homogenous than the ones we do. Men always believe women are more stereotypically feminine, and vice versa (95).

Also, men and women with "low self-evaluations" are more attracted to traditionally "masculine" or "feminine" traits. For men who need ego support, and to preserve their sense of independence and control,  they choose weaker and less educated partners (97). This might account for why most men marry down. So the lower down on the social ladder you go, the more unmarried men you find. And most women marry up, leaving the most educated powerful women at the top of the ladder unmarried (87).  "Hyperfeminine women who adhere to traditional gender roles are more attracted to macho, aggressive, and coercive men," which is evolutionarily self-defeating (96).

For both sexes, the ideal friends and lovers are nonstereotyped, with "masculine instrumentality" and "feminine expressivness."  The higher your self-concept, the more androgynous the character of your ideal parter.

The previous chapter was how similar or complementary attitudes, background, and personality traits are the number one variable that cause people to fall in love. The other is the "Exchange value": the fairest exhange value of personal assets and liabilites that each partner brings to a realtionship (63).

Men are as picky as woman when it comes to choosing a long-term partner, but far less picky when it comes to finding somone to shag, but that's not the point.  There are  6764624951 in the world, half of  them are the gender we're looking for, and we can afford to be as long as we have assets to offer in return.

I really think that old saying is true about if you look for it, you won't find it.  More times than not finding "the one"  happens when you least expect it, not when you are actively seeking them out in bars.  At least this rule applies to me that way in the past.

How many people have you?

Guys - divide by 3

Girls - multiply 3

Hah ha ha.  What does this say about gender?

Why do the genders view it this way and/or want it to be viewed this way?  2 perspectives.
