Is this Susan's (nuart) son?  Just curious.

(ripped from Dugpa's board headlines)

The film, "Dark Reel" will be released this Tuesday on DVD and Blu-ray. This film comes from Josh Eisenstadt who worked on producing many of the extras for the Twin Peaks Season 1, Season 2, and Gold Box DVD as well as the New Line Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me DVD. The film also stars Rena Riffel of "Mulholland Drive" and Tracey Walter of "On the Air" and who was also featured in a Deleted Scenes from "Wild at Heart" which appears on the recent Lime Green Box Set. In addition, "Dark Reel" features music by Adam Harding who also worked on producing many of the extras from the Twin Peaks Season 2 and Gold Box DVD set. If that wasn't enough, the film features an outstanding 5.1 sound mix and sound design by none other than the amazing John Neff. I've seen this film and it is fantastic! I'm out of the loop.  I wasn't aware he was a film director.  Lance Henriksen and the T-2 kid!

It's in Hollywood Video and on Netflix, and has been a very long time coming.

Everyone on here NEEDS to rent or buy it. It's a really absurd horror comedy with some nods to Lynch. And I have a cameo, so yeah. Get some booze, turn down the lights, have fun with it :D

Love the cover.  Why weren't you on the cover?

I love horror movies both good and/or cheesy.

I will check this out soon.

Had mine on order but I went on Amazon today to check on the shipping status and it shows out of stock. Fuck that. Canceled my order and found one sold in the New & Used section on Amazon for a smidge cheaper. Granted it won't arrive tomorrow like I'd expected it to, but at least I'll have it.

That stinks.  Oh well, at least you are getting it!

Does anyone have a link to the plot?

Out of stock on Amazon?! That ain't right! Josh had to special order 3 for himself yesterday, they were in stock then. What the-- ?

I'm not on the cover of Scars because I'm not a star. :P  Like the other rocker extras in the scene with Opiate for the Masses, I just kind of showed up. Years and years ago I asked Josh if I could be an extra in one of his movies, and he made good.  Extra work is fun if you can get it.  It requires no talent, yet you get to meet the real talent, go to screenings, etc. (Adam, mentioned in the first post, had a part of similar duration and magnitude in Inland Empire.)

IMDB PLOT SUMMARY: Murder, mystery and mayhem as B movie fan, Adam Waltz (Edward Furlong), wins Walk on Role in a film Featuring Scream Queen, Cassie Blue (Tiffany Shepis). Thinking his luck had changed for the better he steps into chaos with a killer loose and no one on the production safe. Adams role gets bigger with the murder of an actress, studio chief's (Henriksen) low-budget thriller becomes big with the new publicity... Everyone is a suspect. Who is the killer? Why are they doing this? and who is next?

Tiffany Shepis has already established herself as the next Linnea Quigley.

There may have been a hiccup in the release date.

I worked at Hollywood video for a long time, and this happens. We'll get a last minute fax Tuesday morning that says not to put them on the wall yet. No one gets an explanation, because that's how studios work. The road to releasing a film is paved with speedbumps.

Keep your eyes peeled for it, though.
