I am angry with myself because I am only about 8 hours into Zelda Twilight Princess and I haven't played in months.  WTF is wrong with me?

Why?  Do you not like the Wii?  I think Zelda is cool, but the overall game library sucks compared to Xbox360.

i am in partial agreement...i won an xbox360 recently, and feel more tempted by the bulk of its softward than the wii....plus, the motion sensing aint exactly on the ball...it can be clunky

Agreed. While I do enjoy the Wii, I spend far more time on the 360. And then there's the poor PS3 sitting in a corner all by its lonesome. If it weren't for MGS4 and LittleBigPlanet, the damn thing would never get used.

Of the three, I think the 360 is the best all-around offering.

at some point, a switch clicked in my head and i cannot play video games alone any more

for a while there i made an exception for warcraft with my wife, but even that hasn't happened in a month

i think i'm just done with video games unless a REALLY good castlevania comes out

one day in excitement at the imminent release of MGS4 i took out some cash, walked to the nearest games store to buy a ps3..then thought...WAITADAMNMINUTE! the ONE game i actually want. Then i looked at the SuperStarDestroyer size ps3, walked away, shaking my head at my terrible consumer urges. I mean, the only other games i wanted that wre on ps3 were also on xbox, soo...die ps3 die i guess..

Amanda, I'm jealous you have all 3 systems and PC games.  I wish I was loaded too.

Do you "make it rain" while you play World of Warcraft?

J, I'm single with no kids and two roommates who are massive gamers, plus an ex who works in game design and software dev. And I'm a bit of a tech-head when it comes to computers. So it's not so much a matter of being loaded as it is a matter of having enough extra cash flow and connections to make shit happen.  If I wasn't overweight and mildly unattractive, I'd be a hit with the techie geek guys of the world.

Yeah, the only reason I even have the PS3 is because it was the best Blu-Ray option at the time of purchase, and I wrongly assumed that their game offering would get better. I purchased those two games for PS3 purely out of guilt for not using it enough (I've since purchased a normal BR player that is leagues ahead of the PS3 for a better price), but even that can't make me enamored to it. It's sad because when they came out, PS3 was purported to be the far superior option and everyone shat on the 360. Now the tables are turned and I don't know that it's even worth Sony's time to keep dicking with the PS3, especially when they tend to release better games for the PS2 (!!!). They should focus on the next platform and just pretend the PS3 is a really nice door stop.

I have OCD when it comes to video games.  If I play Zelda tonight, I will play it every night from now until I win it.  If I don't, it could be 6 months down the road or never which ticks me off because I love RPG-type games and it is very well reviewed.  I need to get lost in that world tonight.  Night time is my time.

I'm the same way with Zelda and other "beatable" games. (read: non-FPS) I will play it until I beat the shit out of it. Though Twilight Princess had to kind of take a back seat for a while because when it came out, I was in the middle of a huge project at work, and all I could dedicate to gaming was an hour or two a week, tops.

Which was a huge changeup from when Ocarina of Time came out. When that game was released, I had a ton more free time, and my roommates and I played it non-stop until we beat the crap out of it. Oh those were the days...*sigh*

I usually like to role play as Link and dress up in a Robin Hood - Men in Tights outfit while slashing the Wii remote around.

Wind Waker is one of the most criticized ones, but I liked it (go figure, I liked ENT).  Twilight Princess is beautiful and more adult, kind of like me.

literally the only flaw i can find with wind waker is that at no point does ganon turn into a pig (no the puppet doesn't count). other than that, 100% perfect. the look, the music, the design, and the LENGTH dear god some zelda games now have so many goddam dungeons!

I am proudly over 27 hours into Zelda now.  Last night it took me a freakin' hour and about 20 lives to maneuver on horseback and safely guard a wagon on its trek over a dangerous road with enemies with flaming arrows and birds with bombs.  Insane I say.
