I hate to admit it, but Anne Rice, in all her commercial Jesus-loving fag hagginess, is starting to look pretty goth these days. At least she's retro now.
If South Park covers it, it must be true.

AMEN. This Twilight-mania has pissed me off to no end. Someone in Hollywood ended up digging up an old YA Fiction vampire trilogy I loved back in high school (read: 15+ years ago) and is now looking to make it into a TV series. I about shit myself. They're not the greatest books, but they will definitely be destroyed when the characters are all played by former Disney Channel prodigy and The CW rejects. Grrrr.

YES!!!! I almost DIED when I read the news. They're going to ruin it completely. It's bad enough that the newest book in the series was complete and total shite (LJ has lost her everloving mind, swear to god), but to have them go back and turn it into a tv series and you know they're going to pump it full of the same talent that we see in The OC and One Tree Hill...*weeps*

| QUOTE: This is easy. I would love to cockpunch Tom Cruise. I've never liked him, never understood why people think he's OMG HAWT, and he just gets douchier by the day. I'd give my right arm to kick Victoria Beckham in her netherbeard. If there was one Spice Girl I never wanted to get too much of, it would be her. (I used to refer to her as Least-Talented Spice) |
Hahaha, I've never given much thought to TC one way or t'other but he has been a source of amusement between my sister and me. She HATES him and claims that he ruined every "Rainman" scene he was in. (which was pretty much every scene) But I say it's because of The Incident at Malibu Grand Prix many moons ago. On a warm summer night my sister and a date were having a grand old time racing around in those mini-race cars on the mini-racetrack when suddenly the entire lot of paying customers were told to leave the premises. What?!!! Why? Tom and his posse had arrived and 'bought' the track for the rest of the evening. They arrived with no advance warning and just took it over. She's never forgiven him for that humilation and hisses whenever she sees his face. Vicky Spice Girl was the guest on the Ellen DeGeneres Show the day I took my out of town relatives to watch a screening. Pretty boring. At the end of the show she gave us all a copy of her book teaching girls how to dress and free bottles of her cologne and her hubby's cologne. I gave them away. Although I am not inclined to indulge in fisticuffs, there are those celebrities that irk me. A whole lot of 'em from Madonna, who'd have never had a career in music without the advent of the music video, her ex-husband Sean Penn, who gets more intolerable as the years go on, and pretty much all the marionettes from Team America. David just reminded me... WILL SMITH! How he is the biggest star in the world amazes me. His wife is a twit too and I'm afraid their very cutefollowing-in-dad's-footsteps li'l son will also be an up-and-comer on my list though I'll wait until he's 18 for the official call. Sally Fields. When my doctor told me I should take something for bone density I was near tears. "Not the Sally Fields medication!" I pleaded. She prescribed Evista and not Boniva. Boy, was I relieved!
I am so petty that it even bugs me when celebrities I disike have black labs! Like Julia Roberts. Guess that's enough bile for a Sunday morning.

I Couldn't agree with you more Nuart, about Will Smith. What is his appeal? I liked him in Fresh Prince, but all his movies blew big time. I still have never seen Independence Day, of which I am very proud of. He seems like a cool guy, but I just don't get it.

Yeah, Jack Black is another one! Why is he supposed to be funny?

Please return to the scene in Lebowski in which the Dude returns to Lebowski's fire-lit den for the "strong men also cry" speech, and make sure to watch PSH every moment he's on screen, then come back and tell me that's not some great performing. (Though he gets too much credit for the "that's marvellous" scene, which is Tara Reid's to make or break.) Although James Woods has done some things I've really liked -- and was the only person who turned in a great performance in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas -- I don't think the universe would suffer any major karmic imbalance if someone clocked him. And Gene Simmons -- I'm as much a fan of narcissism and misanthropy as anyone I know, but that man needs something to happen to him to transform him into a remotely tolerable human being, because right now he's a black hole. (And I say that as someone who grew up as a Kiss worshipper.)

| Gene Simmons has always been pretty morally bankrupt, this is nothing new. I love Kiss and like Gene, but I would not befriend him, if he wasn't in Kiss. I've been into Kiss since as early as I can remember. Always thought Ace and Paul were way cooler!

Will Ferrell. But I would have to ball gag him first because he seems like the kind of person who would make irritating, exaggerated noises of pleasure while getting his ass kicked, in yet another pathetic attempt at comedy.

I just don't understand why internet posters would threaten to punch celebrities. I mean, how low can you go, really? *rubs my sensitive area*

I agree about Tom Cruise. I never liked him as an actor and then he just turned into a tard. Only thing that I remotely enjoy that he is in is Interview with the Vampire.
I also would put Chris Martin into this category. Him and his whiney ass band.
I used to feel the same about Leonardo DiCaprio then he did a few movies that were really awesome and I changed my mind.
Matt Damon needs a proper slapping upside the head as well.

Who cares? Some of us (and I'm not naming annnnny names) still want to punch good actors in the face. Will Smith. What can I say? He used to live nearby and we'd run into the fam' while waiting for KooKooRoo carry-out. He just seems like the biggest dick-head. To put it in Holden Caulfield terms... whadda phoney.

Maybe not. He is a tad pompous about his stellar IQ and all. But I've always enjoyed him. Loved him in Salvador and in Casino where even Sharon Stone (how could I have forgotten her deserving mug?) shined. A great sleaze ball if ever there was one. JW, that is.

yeah i don't even know why i posted that, totally not the point of the thread
the funniest thing will smith ever did was the marketing campaign for wild wild west. there was a rap song, a burger king promotion, etc etc....all the shit they usually do if a movie is good, but for wild wild west. HILARIOUS

Hells yeah! How can you take that guy seriously? That slowly taking off the sunglasses thing and a character named Horatio?
Bill Paxton. He always sounds like a dumb frat guy. All the people who decide to remake Hollywood classics. Get an idea and write your own movie.

i refuse to watch CSI- Miami or NY because there is no way 'horatio' would survive in miami-- there's not enough SPF at any level to not have that guy burn to a crisp in south florida.
oh yeah, he's an annoying dick too....

bruce jenner used to be a member of my family through his first wife, let me assure you he's as noodle-doodle as anyone else on the planet. total wackjob. though he did let my retarded cousin beat him at arm wrestling, and 30 years later it's still one of the happiest days of his life. :)
i feel guilty about my lust for kim, she's so goddam horrible but she's thick as hell and multiracial....
