never, never has a show gone so downhill*. i'm not sitting through anything with the name red dwarf on it until i hear unanimous from people whose opinions i respect

*expecting to revise this long-held opinion when the 2010 season of doctor who starts up

Not sure if I'm one of those people or not, but I'll take one for the team and let you know what I think of it. :D

i was all "hey i like kochanski she's kind of cute and..."

then i remembered you weren't talking about CP grogan from sporadic appearances in seasons 1-6, and they actually put that terrible acress in as a full-time kochanski in seasons 7-8. ugh.

You sound like me. My TiVo is filled with good intentions, but these days I'm more likely to just go in and delete entire unwatched seasons of most shows I record. The only things I make time for at the moment are reruns of Inuyasha and M*A*S*H (though I did squeeze The L Word into my viewing schedule since it was the last season and all).

Hopefully in September when I have a 3-week break between summer and fall terms AND I'm not doing festival biz, I can crank through everything else (including BG).

I did the same thing, only with Evil Dead and Meatballs. WTF? I was weird.

I mostly listen to NPR or KOZT's streaming broadcast while I study. TV distracts me entirely too much. (That reminds me...one day I need to borrow your MST3K discs back from you because believe it or not, I lost my entire stack of the ones I copied...I AM TEH SUCK) I know this because Torchwood almost ruined my GPA during spring term last year. :P

I would totally try the MST3K-as-ambient-noise method, but my self control is not that great. It'd be me, Space Mutiny, and a partially-completed field report two days overdue. :P

i've probably seen the scifi channel seasons like 10-50 times each

if "seen" counts having them on while doing chores, homework, cooking, etc

Just got a whole mess of eps last week from a friend with "connections" (DSL, I believe). Joel and Mike and Forrester and Pearl and Trace and Bill. And I have a couple Rifftrax for when I want my big budget films to be teased.

Really want that movie on DVD, though.
