i'm pretty sure it's just me and jordan that watch it so this might end up just being a 2-man party, but hooooly shit that ending was uneven. i love the twist of god being a real force in a sci-fi show, that 6 was telling the truth all along about being and angel and all of that. buty jesus christ, that was the ending of "the resturant at the end of the universe" mixed with the ending(s -- all hojillion of them) of lord of the rings movies.

some things just made absolutely zero emotional sense: why are people suddenly willing to go without things that go beyond "creature comforts?" if i was a diabetic i'd be going apeshit over never having insulin again (apply this example to a WIDE range of treatable medical conditions). is adama REALLY so heartbroken that he's never even going to visit his kid again? dee you emm dumb. finally, and most egregiously, i really hated how hard they felt the need to hammer home the "this will happen to us if we don't learn to live peacefully and without robots!" morality bullshit.

just to end on a positive note, the first 45 minutes were fantastic and i'm glad chief choked the hell out of tori and cavil shot himself.

I was really into the new one for about six episodes. Then I remembered the original was not very entertaining. And the new one was guilty of that by association.

Just my tuppence.

Last night's finale wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't good by any means. The roommates and I spent a fair amount of time going "Really?.....Really?!" I don't know what we expected. Most series finales suck balls in some way. BSG didn't disappoint on that front.

strange but this is almost exactly how i viewed how BSG would end two years ago. They would arrive to a pre-historic earth where man was just becoming to figure out that a wheel should be round, and not square.

I was really worried there at the end of the battle that this would go the way of "Final Fantasy" movie in which they were just "confused" or something to that effect. Nice twist with what's her face getting chocked! Great TV.

The ending did feel a bit LOTR type ending - too many of them. They should've just left it with Adama sitting there looking out, and drop the morality BS. as you said, every uneven. Still would've preferred seeing Galactica exploding!

Knowing that most finales suck, I didn't go in expecting something wonderful and great so I guess my hopes were low so I enjoyed it. I'm guessing the DVD will contain several alternative endings.

I have to admit though, the way they pulled together the prophetic dream and the ending sequences was great. And it threw me that Starbuck was indeed an angel (?) -- or at least dead. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised after she had the entire father/piano experience.

the more i think about it, it really comes down to two big problems:

1. those people have no reason to split up and abandon their technology, aside from the writers needing it to happen. sure they aren't so dumb that they don't forsee a case of appendicitis or even some cavities that need to be filled

2. they spent the "omg it's EARTH! OUR EARTH!" nickel when they found the nuked-out planet earlier. using that again felt cheap as hell.

Check this out.  I watched BSG all the way from the miniseries thru the first half of Season 4.  I quit with 10 episodes left in the series!  I'm insane!

"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this."  -Dale Cooper
