How could Rage Against the Machine be thrown out there?  The music is unique and I admire the political nature of the lyrics.  They are also one of the most electrifying live bands I have ever seen.

 I'm not anti-Clash, I just don't get their appeal.  I'm not a fan of political music.  I want to be entertained, not preached to!

I'm not a huge Skynyrd fan, but I do like their popular stuff, even though Sweet Home Alabama, is way overplayed.  As far as southern rock goes, their right up there with, James Gang!

i can understand that but are you really that incapable of ignoring the lyrics and just enjoying the tune?

(i literally can't hear lyrics unless i pull out the liner notes. i consider this to be a huge blessing in my life)
 

It's not like I dislike The Clash that much.  I just don't see what's so special about them.  On the other hand, I'm a huge Ramones fan, and I know a lot of people on here don't like them and thats cool, too.  I've always found , that your either a big fan of one or the other.  It's possible to like both, but you can't like them the same.  Saying that, as a fan of punk, or whatever you wanna call it, I respect the Clash, I just don't get it.
