I started thinking about this movie again yesterday when I saw Michael Damian's "Rock On" (awesome cheesy song) on VH1 One Hit Wonders of the 80s.  I had this bizarre fascination with this movie back in the late, late 80s.  I think I had it on VHS and I know I had the soundtrack LOL.  I loved the 2 Coreys.  William McNamara's cool hair.  It had cool music.  I was a teenager then as well.  I just noticed it has a Lynch/TP connection with Piper Laurie and Harry Dean Stanton in it LOL!  Did anyone else remember or like this movie?  It's actually pretty crappy, but I have this odd sort of sentimental fondness for it.  What are your thoughts, Generation X (not Generation Text)?

*I think I have this weird complex where I want to revert to my childhood

j, you can't revert to something you never left. Those eighties were the golden video days.

Never was a fan of the "Coreys", myself.  I did like Lost Boys though.

There is definitly a lot of music and movies from the 80's that I love.  Unless you grew up during this time, you most likely find the 80's extremly cheesy.  I always revert back to this decade.  For me, the 80's was such a blast and brings me back to a more innocent time when I wasn't so cynical.

I really liked Dream a Little Dream when it came out. Then again, I'm pretty sure I was mildly starved for entertainment at the time. Still, I liked the idea behind it. And I always thought Meredith Salinger was the bee's knees. :)

j, hang on to your pants. I have that Michael Damian album. :) I used to be a massive Young and the Restless fan back in the 80's and he, of course, was on there...in fact, I remember he used the show to help launch that album. I ran out and bought the cassette as soon as I had enough allowance saved up. And I never got rid of it. In fact, I'm holding it in my hand right now...want to sniff it? It's made of awesomeness.

Ha! I was a tomboy of the highest order. When I was little, Barbies were expensive. And so people stopped buying them for me when they realized all I ever did was use them as hostages for the epic battles I would wage between my Transformers, He-Men, and GI Joes. Oh, and Voltron. RAWK. Then there was the time I used my Peaches-n-Cream Barbie to re-enact key scenes from Time Bandits, but since she wasn't a midget...I kind of...erm...reduced her size a bit. Oh, and I hobbled my Pink-n-Pretty Barbie during one of Man-at-Arms's psychotic episodes.

I actually had a Jem doll at one point that I treated fairly well, though I kept her almost naked the whole time I had her. Just because. I used her whenever my games required a hooker.

Man at Arms always played second fiddle to He Man.  Do you think he was jealous of all of the action he was getting from Teela?

I actually knew this information before I read this post. I even remember Michael Damian performing that song on some gawdawful late-night talk show (Pat Sajak, maybe?).

Should I be beaten or shot?

I'm thinking we both need to be shot and then beaten to within an inch of our lives. :)

I took some time out from watching "Galaxy Rangers" clips on YouTube to find this:

Two things strike me while watching that video.

1) I remember being stoked over that video when it hit the airwaves because it had both of the Coreys AND Michael Damian in it.

2) I have no idea what I ever saw in Michael Damian OR the Coreys.

Don't sweat it. I was a dumb kid, too. I remember a time (roughly from "The Goonies" through "The Lost Boys") when I actually thought Corey Feldman was cool...

Hey now. Don't be hacking on one of my favorite films of all time. I will fight you to the death!

I will be 31 next month and I am comfortable enough with myself to state that I still have a high school crush on Corey Feldman.

That being said, Dream a Little Dream was a great flick back in the day. In fact, I would like to watch it again soon. The Michael Damian video is hilarious to me for some reason....

I find it kind of scary that you can watch the whole movie on YouTube in 11 parts...

I like The Burbs.  It has a Corey and the orange headed kid from Children of the Corn.

As a matter of fact, I believe I will watch The Burbs on this lovely snow shower evening.  It demands study and repeat viewings.  I always like stories about the crazy neighbor even though this one is played for laughs.

Courteney Gains. My brother met him at a con not too long ago. Walked right up and asked him if he could get an autograph and a photo, and by the way could he bang the hell out of the nearby garbage with a stick? I wish I'd been there.
