Lemme from Motorhead is one ugly SOB.  But I guess Motorhead doesn't really appeal to the masses.

I get a bit tired of the thing that talent=good looks.  Does anyone think that Britney Spears or those hookers that call themselves the Pussycat Dolls can really sing?  I get super pissed about how performers of this caliber present themselves as role models for young girls.  Hey girls, if you dress like a ho you will be famous.

I have more talent in my left nostril, but the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls is smokin' hot.  Like I mentioned previously, if you are hot you don't have to be smart or talented.  You just have to exist.

"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this."  -Dale Cooper

it's pretty sad that people have been so well-trained by the entertainment industry that they are surprised when non-beautiful people has a modicum of talent. we've never even heard of the best performers in the world, because they don't look like britney spears.

i'm thinking the last ugly person who was allowed to play reindeer games in the music business is tom petty. i can't think of anyone truly unattractive who came after him.

Remember the lyrics to the Leonard Cohen song "Chelsea Hotel" where the woman (whom he identified as being Janis Joplin) says to him... "We are ugly but we have the music" after the lyrics "She told me again she preferred handsome men but for me she would make an exception."  It's especially fun to hear the beautiful Rufus Wainwright sing the same lyrics in his version .

 I prefer craggy to handsome.

The song works pretty well since the last lines are

I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed

It's just fantastic that song.  I love both Wainwright and Cohen's versions of it.

What sort of perversion is this music?

I prefer my head on an unmade bed.

Showbiz Tonight on CNN had a big debate over whether this nice singing lady needed a makeover.

If she'd had a makeover, the performance wouldn't have been nearly as powerful. It was a big deal when the Elephant Man went to the opera. When Julia Roberts took her hooker gear to Rodeo Drive.

Audiences eat this narrative up.

I wouldn't be surprised if they made her under to increase the effect.

Hairy mole coming up.  Most folks said no to the makeover.  So much has been made over the fact this woman has never been kissed and now the consensus (sp?) seems to be that she will have more dates than she can handle.

See? Not so bad. At the lesbian bars around here she'd be a knockout.

The thing that pisses me off about the whole thing is that...as usual...the UK media grab ahold of something like this and milk it for all its worth for weeks, hell we even got 'Susan Boyle pops out for a smoked sausage supper..' in the papers. I mean come on does anyone really give a shit what she eats??

I was happy to see her do well on BGT, but the constant stories in the press are really beginning to get on my tits, I swear if I read one more story about her in the papers I'll fucking scream.

LOL at her being mentioned in South Park
