for absolutely no reason i walked into a cd store, and decided i was going to buy an album completely at random (well, i wanted something where i knew the cover from magazines but had no idea what it sounded like). i picked up t.rex's the slider, sat down with a pair of big can earphones, and had a listen.

it's almost enough to make me think a divine hand was guiding my choices today, holy SHIT

I have the best of T. Rex. One time I dropped acid and spent half the trip in the bathtub rocking out to that CD. It's happy music.

It's a great album. But if you liked that, then get Electric Warrior, it's even better!

Definitly, one of the true rock classics, Giospurs!

Jerry: "We're holding it in a phone booth?"

No, I've got no idea what it's about either. "JoJo, don't you know?" I really don't...

it's such a strange phrase. does he fight like a rabbit? does he actually fight rabbits? if so, does he put on little boxing gloves and whale on them, or is it some kind of wrestling/UFC type thing? I DEMAND TO KNOW

"This Town Ain't Big Enough..." is an amazing song. But from listening to the other stuff on youtube, it sounds like a one-hit wonder. I do love their look though...

I seem to remember reading/seeing/hearing (whatever!) something about "Rabbit Fighter" really not being about anything actually. Just something that came into Marc's head at the time. I could of course be COMPLETELY wrong. The song "Billy Super Duper" is fairly rare but definately worth having as well.

"Major, I'm going to take a moment here. I feel the call of nature. There's nothing quite like urinating out in the open air."

i took your advice and you craaaaaazy. it's good but slider is balls-out fantastic. even the liner noted on my copy of electric warrior say "if you like this, go get the slider. i probably shouldn't say this since that album's on another label, but it's even better"

 Haha, it really said that?

It's still an album well worth having though. I guess I just like it better because Electric Warrior introduced me to T. Rex, and I just loved the sound. Slider is kind of more of the same (even if it is still amazing, and maybe even perfected a little). I don't think Slider has as many classic songs on it either. EW has Cosmic Dancer, Get it On, Jeepster...  Slider does have Ballrooms of Mars tho, what a song! I guess it's about time for me to check out another T. Rex album actually...

i'm going to have to listen to it more. i notoriously don't "get" albums the first few times through. even with the slider it took like 3 times and now i can't stop. but whereas slider is basically an entire album composed of hooks, electric warrior seems to be a little more meander-y.

metal guru is the best glam-rock(if you could call slider era t.rex glam) album lead off. and one of the best glam songs period. end of sentence.
