Couldn't have said it better myself....I was born & raised South of the Mason/Dixon line and now live in Wild Wyoming so I've gotten to experience the best of both worlds.  But I think I'd have to slit my wrists if someone ever forced me to live up north in yankeeville....

I looked up that Birnmingham pub, sounds fun!  One day I will make it off this continent.

I'm told that Australia is like the States in reverse, culturally speaking.  The South is more urban and the North is rural.

This thread leaves out the whole rest of the world. Typical Americans ;)

I've become a big fan of Wyoming.  There's a small chance that my field site will be moved from Wyo to California, and even though that would be infinitely more convenient, it would still make me more than a little sad.

Ain't that much Viagra in the whole wide world my brother.

 Nah, I'mjuzfugginwiya.

Love where I'm at now,PNW, (well apart from the noise and the politics and the obsession with kissing the ass of the rich) but am required to say 'oh it rains all the time and it's cold and so on and so forth and as such none of you should ever consider moving here yada yada yada, blah blah blah.'

The rest of the west?  OK. I guess. N Cal is gorgeous, SF is amazing. S Cal and LA are too fast and car-ee for my tastes  I love the desert W and the plains but they are just to dry to hold me long term.

Midwest has something about it, guess cause I was raised there.  When I'm going back there by train or car (planes are too quick for this) some part of me relaxes and says 'oh yeah, home again.'  Chicago rocks, as has been observed.

S? Never got closer than Texas (which is its own world) and that was basic training so it no count.

NE?  Flew over it a few times.  Looked a little cloudy.

Born and raised in the South and can not find enough words to convey my disgust with those backward ass rednecks. Fuck the South!!!!!!

Can't say anything about the Northeast

The Midwest okay

The west coast is the best.

No Offense intended. I know there's folks who love it down there and wouldn't have it any other way. However, I was ostracized and casted out from day one. The level of prejudice, social injustice and religious zeal made life unbearable.

I've been all over and each spot has it's charm but I am definately a midwest girl! I abosultly love Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit. I do love San Fran too but there is something about the midwest that is more for me.

1. midwest
2. West coast
3. south
4. east coast

Come on up!  Wyoming is truly a beautiful place especially around Jackson Hole.  I'm kinda in the middle of the state but within 4-5 hours of incredible mountains like The Grand Tetons.

Yep, I've made "Amarillo by Morning" to pick up horses before.  We rodeo alot and Hubby has travelled down to Weatherford....says it's horse heaven....
