Oh don't get me wrong...I don't really care that much for Reservoir Dogs either. I think the dialogue is what I actually like in that film.

Agreed.  I always felt Reservoir Dogs would work best as a radio drama.

This photo alone demonstrates to me why Burton should stick to production design.  Brilliant composition!

The idea that any film ever comes together as a masterpiece -- even with a talented director -- is miraculous considering what a wild and crazy collaborative effort the whole horrible process is.

Burton's Alice will be competing with Marilyn Manson's directorial debut, Phatasmagoria: the Visions of Lewis Carroll in 2010.

Crispin Glover will be the Knave of Hearts in the Burton production, which means I'll watch it, but I am looking forward to Manson's more. Burton has become too predictable.

that picture of johnny depp is the most boring thing i've seen in a long time. wow, burton, johnny depp in whiteface? that's so fucking original. and he looks slightly wacky, never seen that before! much like his last few movies i'll be giving this one of a big fat pass.

(though i'll probably end up youtubing crispin glover's scenes, you got me there)

i almost made a parody thread called "what's your favorite 'johnny depp in whiteface movie'?" because it seriously happens so frequently, what is with people and putting clown makeup on that man?

Such luck to find a blog post with the video embedded, thereby circumventing the need for a youtube account.

My favorites are Quentin Tarantino, Kevin Smith, and Stanley Kubrick, which are probably my two biggest influences for wanting to get into the film industry. Other favorites, whose works I haven't seen all of, include Martin Scorsese, David Lynch, Brian DePalma, Sergio Leone, David Fincher and, to a lower extent, P.T. Anderson.

Apart from the usual suspects I've always been a fan of Atom Egoyan and Hal Hartley.

A teaser trailer for Burton's Alice has been released, and promptly deleted.
Looks awful.
