I don't know if this has been posted anywhere, but the Michael Jackson skit in the upcoming film, Bruno, has been taken out of the final cut. I have no opinion on this, but yay or nay?

I havent seen it yet, but I'm sure Sacha's got plenty of funny stuff in there, and probably doesnt need it anyway!
Ben: "We've laid in a gala reception for your fair-haired boys tonight. All of Twin Peaks' best and brightest." Jerry: "We're holding it in a phone booth?"

I can see it as being quite tasteful and respectful, but how long is it going to take? For example, about two hours ago there was a programme on in the UK called "Mock The Week" and one of the rounds was basically to discuss the death of Michael Jackson, and whoever got the most laughs from the panel of comedians won the round. Admittedly, none of them went "too far" with it, but my fiancés Mother (who was a HUUUUGE fan) was sighing at some of them, but even stifling laughter at some that even i found pretty dark! I know for a fact that Michael himself thought that the Bo Selecta and South Park parodies were pretty funny, so without saying "that's what he would've wanted" because nobody can say that, i do honestly think it would be seen as ok by alot of the audiences, but i respect their decision. F*ck, that was a pretty big "i don't know", wasn't it?

It was. Either way, we all know that, like South Park's controversial episodes 'Bloody Mary' and 'Trapped in the Closet', this Michael Jackson skit will find itself onto the Bruno DVD, as a regular deleted feature or as a very well-hidden easter egg, which I'm sure would be found immediately after the DVD's release. I don't know many of the details about Michael Jackson's past, so I guess I wouldn't have found it funny, anyway. And I read it's just about La Toya Jackson, which would deem this edit unnecessary.

When Michael's brothers were carrying his coffin at the ceremony, was anyone else thinking "Cool Runnings"?

I'm going to have to ask for a source on that south park thing.

As with a great many comedy subjects, Zappa did it early and did it best. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKmGinWDqoc

That was amazing! 1988. Never heard it before. Never saw that MJ photo before either. Thanks for it, Nefud.
My sister was always the Zappa fan while I was hung up on Dylan. But I do love a surprise.

Susan I can't seem to find a copy on youtube or anyplace else free of charge but you positively need to hear Zappa's "flakes" because it's a hilarious song about how much the service industries in california suck, and includes the most dead-on parody of dylan i've ever heard. if you're in the mood to blow $15 on an album recommended by some internet guy, you can find it on Sheik Yerbouti. it's a good album for many reasons. edit: the versions of "Flakes" on youtube are all live and kind of suck, please don't resort to them
