I love the intro track on Shout At the Devil.  It used to scare me when I was a young pup, lolzzzzz.

Now it just rocks.

"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this."  -Dale Cooper

Yeah, Nikki with that whole "Allister Fiend" voice, awesome!

Jerry: "We're holding it in a phone booth?"

I read their autobiography (the name escapes me).  Would have been cool to see how it felt to live like they did back in the 80s.  Wackos :)

I loved their lifestyle, but the only thing that disturbed me is they didn't seem to talk about the music itself a lot.  It's like they were more proud of the partying than the actual art they created themselves.  But it was entertaining.  I read it real quick.

In the book, Nikki couldnt remember much about the music in the 80s because of his serious heroin addiction.  Which is a shame, because Shout at the Devil, Too fast for Love, and Girls, girls, girls are masterpieces!

Hmm, I forgot about Danzig too.. self-titled album from 1988 has meant a lot to me. Filled with genuine rage, Danzig never got better than that, IMO. Haven´t checked out his industrial record though, people dismiss it, but I´m a fan of industrial stuff so I think it could be something..

We´ve all forgotten about DARK ANGEL. Darkness Descends is ehum from 1986 and sometimes I happen to think it´s better than Slayers Reign in Blood.. those drums are..eh I like those fucking drums!

EXODUS - Bonded by Blood. The music hasn´t aged, but the vocals are like Lemmy on acid and then some. Paul Baloff, the one and only.

And what about SAVATAGE? You either love ém or hate them. Hall of the Mountain King is a semi-classic, but they´ve done so much more than that.

PARADISE LOST. If you haven´t heard Draconian Times from 1995 you´re a lucky guy/girl/animal.

Let´s tip their power balance, tear down their crown,

Educate the masses, let´s burn the white Lodge Down!

Agreed.  Danzig's first album is not to be messed with!  From the opening guitar riff of Twist of Cain, to every single other tune on there-PURE RAGE!!!!!

I always liked Bonded By Blood, but I didn't really get into Exodus until Pleasures of the Flesh came out.  So by the time I heard Bonded, I was already a fan of Zetro!  Nothing against Baloff, but I really dig Zetro's voice better!

Back in the 80s, I remember the PMRC, Tipper Gore, and parents in general would talk about how evil and satanic metal was which made me want to listen to it even more because it was supposed to be off limits.  Looking back, the heavy metal scene looks pretty toned down compared to some of the stuff that has been released since then.

exactly.  Where is the PMRC on rap?  God forbid those evil bands like Twisted Sister and Motley Crue were getting to the children.

Now I have to hit myself, I forgot about SEPELTURA. ROOOOTS BLOOODDY ROOOOTS. Max Cavalera is a living legend, not many people has got so much pain and passion.

MACHINE HEAD. Burn My Eyes. The best metal album of all time...? Maybe not, but it´s on my short-list, love the groove, love the lyrics, love the theme, love everything about it. Robert Flynn is also a living legend.

Thought I´d educate you guys what metal really is about. I did send a letter to Tori Amos, asking her to cover this song, but no, she wasn´t interested, ha ha ha! She did a decent cover of SLAYERS Reign in Blood so I thought this could work as well, lol.

And another video.. when Devin Townsend was still having problems dealing with life; screaming and running around (naked!) in the restaurants...

Slayer's Reign In Blood is my favourite 'album' of all time...very partial to them...amazing to see live.

Also very partial to AC/DC the 'Bon Scott' years too.
