OK, time for a new one!  Can either be grunge or alternative from the 90's

Here's mine, in no particular order:

Nirvana

Alice In Chains

Soundgarden

The Cranberries

Garbage

Stone Temple Pilots

The Offspring

Temple of the Dog

Ben:  "We've laid in a gala reception for your fair-haired boys tonight.  All of Twin Peaks' best and brightest."

Jerry: "We're holding it in a phone booth?"

Now you're talking!

Stone Temple Pilots (as made obvious in the pic thread)
Pearl Jam
Alice In Chains
Live
Screaming Trees
Mudhoney
Soul Asylum
Temple of the Dog
Soundgarden

I used to love Nirvana alot more than i do now, and i guess Smashing Pumpkins deserve a mention too, although the same applies. Oh, and i used to worship RHCP but they get on my tits a bit now.

My brother brought me up on grunge, so i'll always have a soft spot for it. I still listen to pretty much all of those bands to be honest. I'll probably think of even more later on...

Space Hog was a one hit wonder. The one radio friendly song was "In the meantime". Great Song, but they stayed in cult status and eventually broke up. Check 'em out.

Damn, I forgot about that band!  I remember I liked a few songs by them.  What were some of their more popular tunes?

Also: Silverchair and Bush.

I'm not sure what their more popular tunes would be, but I highly recommend their Hungry for Stink album.

Bush?  Really?

Seven Year Bitch is another great grunge era chick band.

For alternative, if you can call them that, I love me some Sonic Youth.

Are you talking about the grrrrrrrrrrreat mighty warlord Bush or that pathetic post-grunge band? And SILVERCHAIRS emo-grunge makes me really sick. Sorry, but when it comes to "grunge" I must be rigid. 95% or 96% of all this post-grunge is the enemy.

Best bands:

SOUNDGARDEN, LOVE BATTERY, SOUNDGARDEN, MAD SEASON, SOUNDGARDEN, AUF DER MAUR, ALICE IN CHAINS, PEARL JAM, NIRVANA, SCREAMING TREES. Love TEMPLE OF THE DOG too, even though it´s not grunge, then again what the hell was grunge, it was merely the sound of distorted guitars hailing mostly from Seattle. Spritually connected to Twin Peaks by the way.

Alternative bands: HELMET, TOOL, LIFE OF AGONY, and not to be forgotten QUICKSAND, don´t know where to place them, so alternative as hell, then, lol!

Let´s tip their power balance, tear down their crown,

Educate the masses, let´s burn the white Lodge Down!

This is really weird, cos i was going to put Quicksand and Life Of Agony, but i guess they're "hardcore" bands that went softer. Especially Life Of Agony with the "Soul Searching Sun" album, which is probably my favourite of theirs anyway.

Anyway, this is trailing off. People will be putting Staind and Godsmack soon.

So took my entire eh left side of my brain, tossed it to the wolves and cleansed myself by listening to Michael Bolton and Belinda Carlisle!

No one´s mentioned Blind Melon. I liked them. And Therapy? Not grunge, but punk-pop-metal, pretty awesome... in small doses.
