"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this." -Dale Cooper

Well, that is quite an endorsement. I'll see if I can find it or a sample on the internets.

I listened to some of their tracks on Spotify, because I would regard myself as a fan of synthpop. But it doesn't have the things that I love about 80s synthmusic, the rough edges, and darkness that Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode and New Order have. Owl City is really bright and I disliked the keyboard tones, and the auto-tuned vocals. Anyway, seen as I bothered to check them out I thought I might as well give my opinion. Sorry you didnt' create a new Owl City fan!

My favorite Owl City song is "Hello Seattle". :)

Never heard of them before, but based on this I looked them up on YouTube and really liked what I found. (loved the Speak-N-Spell in the "Fireflies" video, by the way) I have since gotten "Fireflies" and "Hello Seattle" off iTunes. Me like. Thanks for the tip, j. Never would have been on my radar otherwise. Also, good to see you on here again. :)

This guy is getting pretty big airplay over here in the UK at the moment, so i've only just been able to hear it. A part of me likes it, but i can't get past the Fall Out Boy vocals. Plus, The Russian Futurists and The Postal Service have been doing this exact kind of one-man-band alternative pop style stuff for ages, and much, much better too.

Owl City gets the Postal Service comparison all the time. :) Rolling Stone mentions it more often than they really need to cuz we kinda get the point by now. LOL
