I saw him in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was actually probably a rare poor performance. I think I've loved him in every other film he's been in.

I don't like him, because he's a very talented actor who appears in some of the most God-awful movies (POTC trilogy).

And Terry Gilliam repeated their sentiments:  "He'd better start making some good films ... I'm not a great fan of Public Enemies, because I think [Michael Mann's] a fucking extraordinary filmmaker, but personally I didn't think Johnny had enough room to act ... He's making so much money. There was a piece in the Huffington Post today [Presumably he means this one]. It's a letter saying 'All right, come on, we all love you, but stop.' ... It's like, 'Come on. You've got the power to make some really good films happen. Why are you doing this shit?'"

i wonder if giliam had in mind the long-protracted, shut-down multiple time production of "the man who killed don quixote", which i believe was to star depp.

Hate him.  He and his artfully mussed artiste coif and too cool to crack a smile on the red carpet facade.  I am so uncomforable with this Hollywood fame thing...  I hate his actorly intellect as deep as a puddle on a formica countertop.  FEH.   Hated that fake mental illness movie -- Benny and Joon? ARGH.  Never saw a Pirates movie and never will.  Despised the headless horseman movie beyond words.  He's a small, dainty boy with a photogenic face and a crass mouth.  I'm so outspoken and uh... real as evidenced by my every other word being the F-word.  But oh, those midnight blue shades.  Don't get me started.  I will not raise my children in the US, the world's most violent country.... forgetting all about Brazil or South Africa or maybe Zimbabwe?

But I did enjoy What's Eating Gilbert Grape although that was more of a shining moment for Leo.

As Leonard Cohen might opine, "I don't think of you that often" but when your face ends up on covers of magazines that end up on my kitchen counter, I am reminded afresh at how offensive you are.  He's one of those actors I cannot watch without remembering I'm watching JOHNNY DEPP and not the character he's playing.

They've both got the looks, but di Caprio is a much better actor. I'll always like Depp for Edward Scissorhands, and Ed Wood was good too, but otherwise, looking down his IMDB profile, there's no other outstanding roles. I actually find his Captain Jack shtick pretty boring, even if it is the best part of the franchise.

I always thought diCaprio had(has) a young almost teenager face which detracted from his adult roles. I did think he was OK in that Howard Hughes movie. I even picked up washing BETWEEN the fingers when washing your hands from Leo's portrayal of Hughes.

Johnnie Depp ? hey the women all love the guy. hence his huge popularity.

Public Enemies was not half bad!

newraymond- you learn that in the medical field, too. Between fingers, AND wash both thumbs with entire soaped up opposite hands, then up the wrist---> then repeat (because you have contaminated your clean hands with your dirty wrists.) Why not wash the wrists first, you say? Because it gets them cleaner this way, and prevents bacteria from your unsoaped wrists sloshing down your hands on water.

Also, use an orange stick for your nails and nail beds when washing.

And never rub your hands dry with anything, or bits of stuff will end up on your skin. And never air dry (wet skin collects ariborne germs.) Pat gently dry.

Yes, there was a practical exam on this!

And don't touch the bathroom handle on the way out. Use a paper towel and find a trash later :)

.... sorry OT

Yes 12,

Ok, my hand cleaning procedure gets even better. Yeah, soap up the thump with the opposite mit. I follow you on the wrist part. I am gonna use this plastic manicure tool from this grooming kit I have right here in front of me. Ha my Mother always had those orange sticks. They still make them ?

Then pat lightly with white thickish midsize towels. I'm there. Do you use this effective method yourself?

Now re: the use of Purell type lotions.

Are you for using them. I never have used the product until this year. One of my new temp girls called and i went over her place to talk shop, personalities-changes, hang... and I met her just like another gal by using the purell intervention.

No chance in hell I'm a compulsive or a germaphobe. But when close human contact is introduced it could sneeze on his shirt wrist and then shake someone's hand.

Modern Hygiene re all human intercourse is indicated.

And girls, that goes for your Johnny Boy Depp too :)

I pay special attention to the thumbs still, but just finding excuses to wash your hands is good. I don't anticipate having my hands in strangers' living bodies or around their blood/pee/semen/poo specimens on their way to the lab, so I relax. But if I touch money or door handles, I must wash my hands before eating or touching me face.

Um Hum , like i wasn't deterred from fixing the running toilet at work. Of course i did a Hughes clean up and capped it off with purell.

How about that Johnny Depp? Does he keep his hands clean.  To the other readers: Hey as a general rule when convenient don't neglect the body appendages and orafi.
