Anyone been watching the new season of Dexter?

It's been getting better again, although still frustrating as it could be up there in TV's top shows, but there are moments of stupidity and lame writing as in previous seasons.

Anyway, just came on to mention a scene in the new episode that was very reminiscent of the dinner table scene in FWWM. In most ways, Dexter is completely different to TP. Despite its subject matter, it has a bright sunny look, in contrast to the moodiness of TP. Anyway, in the new ep, there is a scene with John Lithgow's serial killer at Thanksgiving dinner with his family, and it has the exact same building tension that the FWWM scene has. It builds to a climax, whereas the FWWM scene just leaves things boiling away under the surface. Anyway, this was probably one of the best scenes ever in Dexter. For anyone that saw it, do you think the reference to FWWM was intentional?

I did not have Showtime when Dexter premiered, I rented the first season DVD and lost interest, but I gave it another shot this season, I'm lovin' it! As a father, I can relate to Dexter's challenges to pursue his passion with the demands of family. There's a lot of parallels with the latest season of Mad Men, Draper facing the same dilemmas with fatherhood.

Lithgow has been a treat to watch. Some of the suporting cast is not so strong, but overall I've been digging it.
