Well, I watched.  Dozed off a little.  Skipped around the cable so-called news networks listening to the various opinions in the aftermath.  And will have forgotten it all by same time next year.

I heard about the projected thrust while it was being written. Something like, Obama is sorry he lost touch with the people and that they don't know what's going on in the White House, but that this will be his way to reach out; that this is not a time for rhetorical flights of fancy but he won't be talking about a specific course of action.

So I guess he was just giving the USA a shout out?

Watched all the 'money' shows this morning and one thing that stood out to me was their take on Obama's plan to forgive college loans for those who go into "public service."  Or the bulk of the college loan.  (90%) WHY?  For those who take out college loans and go into business for themselves, employing dozens of people, they aren't serving the public?  One guy called it the Deadbeat College Grad Program or something to that effect.  Funny.

No.  I didn't like that plan.

I think Obama is off the path by thinking the government is the Job Creator anyway.  Government jobs are paid for by... US.  Us.  Creating new government jobs means the U.S. taxpayer has new burdens.

Meanwhile Miramax closed down and their remaining staffers are no unemployed.  Papadakis Greek restaurant in San Pedro, CA, a landmark for nearly 40 years, closing.  Pasadena Playhouse, where many stars got their start throughout its long history.  Closing.  I guess these unemployed could go back to school, take out loans and become ... congresspersons afterward?

Who's wealthy today?  This week it is Americans, regardless of whether you live in Omaha, San Francisco, New York or the forever downtrodden Youngstown, OH, you are rich if you make $85,000 a year.  Podunk!
