So for the past two days I've been playing Metal Gear Solid 2 almost non-stop. And I'm not even much of a gamer, in fact for years i never even touched a controller. More recently I've occasionally played a game just to de-stress, but when I found this in my bro's cupboard, got curious and stuck it in my PS2 I...just kept playing...and playing, and playing and playing...and I don't think I'm even halfway through the game... But the worst part is...after a day of playing the game with the occasional break to go out for a coffee or have something to eat...I keep thinking - "Fuck, I could have been doing something fun and productive today!" What's more, I can't tell if the story to this game is interesting and thematically rich or pretentious crap. Some parts seem the former, some the latter. So should I try and finish it or should I just put it away and never look at it again? Sorry, but I've just had that feeling of emptiness I mentioned earlier...
There was a fiish..iinn the percolatrr!

I booked a week off work when Grand Theft Auto IV launched, so I may not have the best advice. But if you're having fun, and it's not cutting in on something you need to do, see it through to the end. Too often with particular games (especially those with a story), I find that stopping will break my immersion and momentum, and I'll never pick it up again. But if I play at least a little each day I can easily stick with it. And today's cultural adventurer should play one long videogame from start to finish just to have the experience.
