Cherie sings Here Today, Gone Tomorrow on the 2008 Bossa 'n' Ramones album. Had the chance to see a double bill of The Ramones/ Runaways back in '78 (at my college in Va.) & passed. I'm still kickin' myself...

I'm just wondering why & how long KRISTIN STEWART will be referred to as the Twilight chick? She has done several other films (Adventureland, anyone?). I haven't seen either of the teen/vamp flicks, so... come on...

The two faves back then were Joan Jett and The Pretenders lead Chrissy Hinds -post Runaways years. Does Lita Ford have any link to the Runaways? were the f--- did i hear such a thing ? a blackheart ?

It's her biggest role, kinda like how Dakota Fanning's is I Am Sam, or at least, when I think of her I think of I Am Sam. It happens, especially with young actors. Arnold Schwartzenegger is known as the Terminator for a reason.
I am looking forward to seeing this movie. I'm hoping that KRISTIN STEWART does a stand up job playing Joan Jett because I absolutely LOVE Joan Jett.

Then How come D.K. is not the I Am Sam chick? Same # of syllables... Let's just refer to actors by their actual names. It's like fans at the TP Fest calling guests by their character names. GRRR, HEAD SMACK!!! Going to see the flick today. The reviews fault the script moreso than the performances. The other Runaways are pretty sketchy. I'm just as interested in seeing the portrayal of the legendary Kim Fowley!!

I think Kristen Steward and Dakota Fanning will do fine. I think they both are great actresses. I like Dakota in every thing I have seen her in. I like Kristen in everything I have seen her in, but I have not been a big fan of the movies she has been in. I think I will really like this one though.

I dug it the most. Michael Shannon was insanely great as Kim Fowley. A couple of problems: Lita Ford's career was not mentioned in the p.s. & bassist Jackie Fox (who I believe was replaced towards the end) was called Rocky Rhodes. Tatum O'Neal plays Cherie's mom ( a failed actress bitch) & there's a masturbation scene where Tatum's stepmom Farrah Fawcett figures prominently.

This movie sounds cool and historic. Tell me the actresses are 16 or over. I know, google it. I would rather toss things around here. AS Jackie Gleason in character would say " EEmmm , you,re a good group." I will get Foxes. never saw that. The u tube Runaway entries are just fantastic -Cherry Bomb. Real teenage story of success in a new grouping and needed form. I always from the start thought an all girl group would be dynamite On all the U tube versions of Cherry Bomb, Cherie really dominates that group and waiting for rotation is Joan Jett. Anyway ,yes Lita was there and lead guitarwas there, - I was specificly (sp)looking for Lita. c'mon Cherie just got way most time on the video. Like she starred for sure. Lita was back to the side honing up for great success later on. Everybody wins. I'm going to I gotta get past Cherry Bomb.but it rocks Know anything about "Edgeview" a runaways documentary-not at Amazon.

Okay, first off, The Runaways were NOT the first all female band. Their most well known predecessors were (not talkin' 'bout girl singing groups) Goldie & The Gingerbreads & Fanny. Neither were big successes, but after 4 albums & truckloads o' hype, neither were The Runaways. Joan was certainly the biggest commercial success, but Lita carved out an impressive niche, especially given that she was in the male dominated metal genre. Other femme rock bands in their wake: Girlschool, Bangles, Go- Go's, Slits & the whole Riot Grrrl wave. Damn, go SEE the movie!!! Whatcha waitin' for?!

I saw it. Kristin and Dakota did a really great job. These two have insured themselves good careers as adult actors. The ending seemed to come too soon - like a piece was missing ?? Reb, have ya seen it ?
