Look like Corey Haim died of an accidental OD.

This is sad news. I was a a big fan of the Corey & Corey movies as a child...and as a slightly immature adult.

I'd totally be surprised except that I'm not. He's lucky he made it to 38. Watching him on the 2nd season of The Two Coreys was some of the most depressing shit ever. I hate to say it, but my friends and I took bets on how long it'd be before he died.

Just damn sad.

I totally agree with you, Amanda. He's lucky he made it this long. The weird thing is, this makes me feel like my childhood is dying...you know, a lot of the people I was into as a child are not around anymore...

Very sad indeed.  I was also sadly not surprised to hear the news, agreeing that it is amazing he made it this long.  Big fan of a lot of his movies...Lucas, The Lost Boys, License to Drive...what a shame. :(

I would have bet on Feldman to go first... Haim seemed the less Corey of the Coreys...

Ah, not even close, Gordon.  Haim was in a deep deep barely functional zone whereas Feldman has/had a wife, always has some projects going on and works.  The longer I observe the brutal machine at work in this town, the sadder it makes me.  Mommas, don't let your babies grow up to be actors.

Yes, Hollywood throws a couple more attributes that can add an extra danger of becoming engulfed in alchohol/drugs.

Actors tend to have at least a touch of narcissism and the craft usually calls for an actor to deal with rejection- a bitter pill so to speak. Also, a 'name' can more easily get croakers (prescription writing Doctors) to write them scripts for potentially addictive drugs. Actors are often offered free drugs from hangerson. So there appears to be extra 'benefits' that can trip up an actor.

I was sad to hear that Corey H was gone.

The few people I know that were friends with Corey at the time of his death were actually surprised and said he had actually been doing a good job of staying clean.

So Amanda- did you win the bet? Hey, there are going to be two Lost Boys at the autograph con I am working in NJ next month (Brooke McCarter and Billy Wirth)

Maybe because The Firm wasn't as meaningful in relation to their childhood as The Lost Boys?

Child actors.  Poor things.  And children of famous actors who go into the biz.  Cursed.  Look at the latest casualty -- Cameron Douglas.  Whadda tragic mess.  When I see all the supermarket tabloids with celebrity babies on the cover looking so sweet and innocent, I fear for what's coming down the road for the bulk of them a decade or so later.  I once heard a son of a famous actor suggest that all celebrities should be sterilized to save their offspring.  Rash, maybe?

Renfro was eh, I think he couldn't touch either Corey with their goofy crap and fun films.
