OK . I went to see Patty Smythe -she was opening for some guy that was a complete no thank you, yet more commercially known-i have thankfully forgotten his name. Anyway, with the second row seats and  entering with my two girlfriend partners, Patty was just cute and played to us repeatedly . She was good and we left right after she finished.

My all time favourites (and personal biggest influences) have to be Transatlantic, The Doors and The Carpenters.  (Karen Carpenter is my all-time favourite female singer. )  I think she has a voice like an angel and even now it's so sad that she's no longer with us.  A lot of ppl think I sound like her when I sing, but I'm sure you've heard me tell that story once or twice haven't you Diane?

If you STILL don't know who Transatlantic are (I still can't believe a lot of ppl don't!) They consist of Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) Pete Trevawas (Marillion) Neal Morse (Spock's Beard) and Roine Stolt. They're mainly a prog-rock band, like Spock's Beard - who's album Snow I also love but I like Transatlantic better.  They had 2 albums out (All of the Above, followed by my personal fave ever album, Bridge Across Forever) then Neal Morse suddenly "found God" (lol) and group separated, but later got back together to my amazement and released the still fairly new album, The Whirlwind, which they've just finished the tour.  Sadly I still didn't get to see the.  My pig of an ex gave my Manchester ticket to his friend on purpose so I couldn't go. Still, now they're back together at least there's hope (crosses fingers).

The new Doors movie I can't wait to see when it comes out but as it hasn'tt been released here yet I fear it may be a straight to DVD release.  The Oliver Stone Doors movie with Morrison's doppelganager Val Kilmer I saw at the pics. was awesome.  I have that too.  But I was a fan of the music (and poetry) of Morrison et. al long before either movie came out, I just wish he had still been alive when I was born.
