Don't know much about him, but he's suddenly become my favorite politician (at least for today).

Conviction without the polarizing attitude?  Maybe.  We expect so little from our leaders anymore.  Coburn for President 2012.

He has a few good things going for him, B, but...

...I recall watching him in a debate over the big undebatable -- the big "A" dealio.  He actually went to what I view as the logical conclusion with those who use terms like "baby killer" and "murder" of a fetus.  Prosecution for capital crime for the guilty parties.  That would mean doctors and, if I recall his answer correctly, the accomplices -- women who solicit the crime of killing their unborn children.

This is too hardcore for any society I can envision but particularly an American society circa the early 21st century.  The record is clear on his stance and I can just imagine the political ads.

His higher aspirations in national politics have reached their apex.

PS Here's one quote:  On the issue, Coburn sparked controversy with his remark, "I favor the death penalty for abortionists and other people who take life."

“Half a truth is often a great lie.”
