Let's all recall that John was a prominent secular humanist (atheist, if you must) & a power to the people kinda guy. He'd be totally behind our president right now. Vote Democrat next month in honor of Mr. Lennon.

Oh, yes, he made some great decisions in his personal life too. Just ask Julian. Or Cynthia. What a grand and thoughtful idea, Chris! You've convinced me!

Just liked his music with the other 3. esp. the very early music from the 60's.

Oh, he was certainly flawed, Susan, but I think he was pretty consistent in his basic world view. And you certainly wouldn't be swayed by the opinions of some mere pop star, even if that one were even Bob Dylan. At least consider seeing Nowhere Boy, which sheds some light on his tumultuous teen years...

Tee hee, Chris. You'll not find me voting as Bob Dylan might possibly vote (even if I had a clue IF he voted or HOW he voted). Kinda like to make my own decisions on those matters. I love Dylan as an artist and for me, that artistry transcends the political. He could be so wrong about someone like the murdering murderer Hurricane, por ejemplo. If he and I had served on that jury together, we'd still be deadlocked as he couldn't have convinced me that Hurricane was an innocent man. I appreciate his lifelong reluctance to accept the moniker - "Voice of His Generation" - and his clear rejection of that press-generated notion. Refreshing! Nothing against the general song-meister talents of John Lennon, senselessly murdered at 41. Hey, I loved that final album where every other song was John-Yoko-John-Yoko (though I fast forwarded through every Yoko number). Furthermore, I actually LISTENED to her perf whilst all around me were booing and hissing at the Toronto Rock and Roll Revival in 1969. The crowd was not wrong. And once, I waited on a drunken John Lennon and his drunken entourage at the LA Playboy Club in the early 70s. Glad he never gave me a voter's guide filled in with his suggestions. Anyway, Happy (belated) Birthday, John Lennon, who shares a common birthday with both our friend, Rob Lindley and my mommy. But I gotta draw the line when it comes to "imagining" how he would be voting today and then doing the same . That's... well... a logic I can't follow.
