Hey, have an opinion on the occupy movement? it is going for a month here in Boston, really strange, the local government is "in bed" with them, basically allowing them to do want they want, chime in

Bleep you, & bleep the establishment, and bleep all of you who are trying to make me part of the unestablished establishment.

I've been feeling that this looks a lot like the 1960s to me for some reason. I wasn't alive then so I may be totally wrong but it just feels like it's that same vein with that kind of potential. the problem is that Occupy doesn't seem to have a coherent message (unlike the anti-war protests of the 60s and the civil rights movement)

But I can't figure out WHAT they want. If they were protesting against "evil" govt, then a new policy could end the protests, but I'm not 100% sure what "evil" corporations are going to be able to do here. BofA not charge $5 for debit cards and hand out a million dollars to everyone?

I think the fact that we are coming into the winter months it won't last very long (unless we have warm winter). The question then is - will it resume in the spring?

The Trenton version started with about 10 protestors and 12 press people showing up to cover it.  By late last week, I think it was down to two people.  Earlier this week, the police came and took everything away.

The whole thing seems a little bit like Cub Scouts for (sorta) grown-ups.

Yeah, well, it's been quite a bit more dedicated, focused & fervent here in Seattle. Don't know how the Cub Scouts analogy works & these people are definitely grown up. Guess it's more adult to sit in safe judgement than to actually do something risky & meaningful.

Perhaps the Jersey version would've been more effective if Snooki had shown up.

its been pretty big here in Boston, many tents and people hanging out. the thing is, they don't have a unified message, just alot of one issue sects together. now unions are joining in. I think it is going to last, as long as the local governments allow it to. here people can't believe that they have "squatted" this long. usually you have to pull permits etc, as a matter of fact some events that had pulled permits were cancelled because of the occupoiers. press calling them useful idiots.

I dunno....we'll see once we start looking at that first foot of snow in the northeast..... :-)

Doesn't look like Occupy Kansas City here is having much of an impact.

Might I recommend that OCCUPY WALL STREET head south a bit?
