Because losing Ed McMahon, Michael Jackson, and Farrah Fawcett in the span of a few days wasn't weird enough... Billy Mays Somewhere at this very moment, the Sham-WOW guy is boarding his ROFLcopter.

Sorry guys, it wasn't Paris. Check out this odd little video and mourn the death Seeds lead singer, Sky Saxon. Listen for the keyboardist too, Daryl Hooper. He was my teenage boyfriend when I was 15. When he broke up with me, it was the first and last of my broken hearts. Susan

Yeah, I was. I wanted (expected) to be picked up after school daily in his '57 white convertible T-bird instead of just occasionally. (He went to the other high school in town) Actually I don't think he ever really liked me much but just liked double dating with his band mate, Rick Andridge, whom I understand now has dementia! This kind of week might feel unlikely but given the rate at which our culture creates celebrities, it's more or less inevitable. We'll probably see a week with 10 dead celebrities within our lifetime. I can't wait for the televised funerals of the guy who does the voice of the geico gecko, the "numa numa" kid, and the little girl from small wonder

I don't even know what the Numa Numa kid is -- boy or girl -- but I intend to sit at the wrong star on the Hollywood Blvd and mourn noisily that same day as well.

On a side note, I have that song ferreted away on a mix CD that I like to surprise people with from time to time. Doesn't help that I know all the words though.

I coulda sworn I heard a Rihanna song recently that sampled the "Numa Numa" song. But a look at YouTube and Wikipedia offers no confirmation. I must've halluicnated it, and I'm oddly fine with that conclusion.

Believe it or not, it actually sounds worse than the real deal. I've had to hear my neighbors blast it at top volume more than a few times. I'm so completely over rappers and hip-hop artists sampling anything. Flo Rida is currently the most abusive of them all.
