Yes, it's 9:50am here, and i'm preparing mine right now. And it got me thinking about how varied this meal can really be around the world. On a trip to Italy a couple of years ago, i was rather disappointed to see that in certain areas there, all you seem to get are different breads, cheeses, and preserves. Nice as they were, i fancied a bit more! Haha. Yet on a recent trip to New York City, i was delighted to see that they do breakfast proper. Big time. For a whopping price though, i might add!

So, what kind of things tickle your tastebuds in the morning? I'm currently making a good old English fry-up at the moment for me and my fiancé, although she doesn't know it yet 'cos she's still asleep upstairs. I'm about to wake her up with a cup of tea. Most mornings though, i just go for my regular poached eggs on toast.

So, what do you go for? Shoot!

Dammit, i'm starving now. Haha! Poppy still hasn't woke up, and all the food is almost ready. She's had such a tough week, i don't think i should wake her. I'm hoping the smell alone will stir her. Or an elbow drop? I'll see how i feel in a few minutes.

And wow, i really want to try ginger tea now...

Cup of coffee and a black cherry yogurt.  The same breakfast for decades and all that varies is the brand of the yogurt.

If I'm traveling I may switch gears.  The Southern US has the best genuine breakfasts but a standard morning hotel meal is usually eggs benedict.  OR... if it's cold outside, a big bowl of oatmeal.  Orange juice.

Mmmmm,

I'm quite fond of cheese omelets.  With hashbrowns and crispy bacon on the side.  Big glass of milk.

I have an antique Griswold waffle iron that makes an outrageous waffle.  Today it was whole wheat and freshly ground buckwheat, with walnuts and real maple syrup.  Somedays it's a bowl of oatmeal (cinnamon, walnuts, m.s.).  Somedays it's organic yellow corn grits, butter, spike, maybe some grated cheddar.  Or a bowl of rice, or quinoa.  I like to keep breakfasts shuffling around.

Interesting...

My breakfast is always the same.It is a kind of strange thing as nothing or nearly nothing is the same in my life,I am not the person of "the same things"..but my breakfast IS the same.It is never at home.As I go to bed very late I am a zombie in the morning and I am not hungry. So it is always a cup of coffee with milk, very hot and strong(we have good coffee here!)without any sugar,a little cheese sandwich and...a newspaper.

my breakfast  weekdays munching lightly would be yes! berries, bananas, very light, coffee, and maybe a granola bar. I LOVE Cherries and Strawberries! depends on if it'll be a very good harvest too. the cold snap across here, the prices will go up and the taste will suck/bland taste.

I do brunch!

I know, it's the most important meal of the day, but I hate cooking and if I have food in the house, I would graze like a cow all day.

So it's usually fast food, a small portion, or snack food from the gas station. Whee, healthiness!

What?? You don´t have food in the house?? So how do you eat? Always take outs then?

Today I had oatmeal and a strawberry smoothie. Makes me full but still being healthy. And my preggo vitamins of course....

I do enjoy an American or English breakfast when I travel. Had some crazy breakfasts at diners when I was in London this summer. Pancakes, bacon, french toats, the lot. Loved it but couldn´t eat it every day.

Lars and I usually have some nice bread from the bakery, cheese, ham, boiled eggs, fresh orange juice and that sort of stuff at weekends.

Yeah but no but yeah but no but....

How nice of you to create breakfast for your sweety hopesfall!

Oh man we have some really good places around here for breakfast but I have to be in the mood to eat breakfast food. Im in Florida so some of that traditional country Georgia food filters down here. Lots of buscits & gravy, eggs, home fries, country fried steak etc.

I usually dont eat breakfast but if I do I'll eat something like a small turkey sandwich - with or without mints. Im totally addicted to peppermints btw.

Now if its a weekend I would looove that Italian breakfast with the warm bread & cheeses with some nice red wine. yummm Mind you, I like to ease on out of bed on the weekends a little late - if there's nothing to do that day!

I could eat eggs and bacon every goddamn morning if I just had the time. But I don't. For a while I have been grabbing stuff at the bus station like scones or whatever. Then I eat bread at work a couple of hours later.

Today I bought stuff so that I can eat oatmeal porridge with apples and cinnamon the next couple of days. I gotta get a little more healthy in the future...
