Not sure why I'm suddenly getting this, but after I hit Post Message, it comes up with this error. Not sure if itn's because of the computer I'm on here at work or not: ---error message removed because it messes up the margins. Jordan ----

Um...not sure if you are aware but I think there is something wrong with the avatars. They only seem to be showing up as little dots. Also I have noticed that just now when I hit submit and the black and red borders completely disppeared and the columns. It just happened when I clicked on "Home" and got the forum index page. Basically it was all just a white screen with the black writing and nothing else. It has gone now though but I thought I ought to mention it just incase. Sorry to bother you with these if you already are aware.

I noticed this time around that when I'm still on the board and hit active topics to refreash, it isn't updating properly. Even though the thread has been updated, the folder doesn't reflect green like it should. It still stays grey.

I just tried to post an image from my folder in the file manager, and although I was able to upload it properly, when I tried to access it through the Insert Image button above, it took me into somebody else's image folder instead. (I don't know whose, but I left an empty subdirectory there with a title that asks them to PM me.)

Just noticed that:
A) I cannot upload anything B) I still cannot see any pictures or avatars. C) I cannot get any MSN smilies to come up in the toolbars section anymore.
I also keep getting that weird white background screen with blue writing I was talking about, and earlier it came up witjh all this data that made no sense saying contact administrator, but lost the data before I had a chance to copy/send it to you.
Again not urgent just worried incase it happens to anyone else.

Maddy, I wonder if there is something specifically wrong with your FireFox installation.
I use FireFox exclusively on three computers and I'm not getting the type of errors you are getting on any of them.
I was surprised when members suggested for you to use IE View feature because I haven't had any problems with FireFox.
That "contact your administrator" with al that funny writing is an error message. When you see that, you need to let me know what it is so I can see what error you are getting.

Haha! When I click on Image properties -- the yellow square and then go to "browse" and end up on FCK (that cracks me up!) editor, I have a long list of things I've downloaded -- images.
But I also have this:
jvscant_is_lost_in_someone_else_s_folder_somehow_-_PM_me
And I IM'ed JVS, who I don't think got it.
It's all one big mystery to me!

JVS - you are seeing a number of people's images I think. I've noticed a couple of flakey things with this so I'll try and take a look this week.
FYI for everyone - the only thing "private" around here are your private messages, so don't upload anything you may not want others to see. Even AFTER I get this fixed.

Just to let you know problems B & C have been solved Jordan. That was apparently my own fault for accidentally blocking images for the site, which I did not realise I'd done until about 3 hours of Rush trying to figure it out for me then he came across it.
I apologise for being such a muppet.
Still not sure if I can upload anything though.

I don't remember this happening from my home PC, but it's doing it from work... When I log on, it keeps asking me for my username and password, making me think I've made a typing error somewhere and been knocked back. However, it turns out that I have actually been allowed to log on, despite it continuing to prompt me to do it. (Gawd, that was a clear as mud description, wasn't it!) Not a big deal, as it probably won't happen if I ask it to remember me each visit (but I don't like using that option from a work computer). Also, it seems that if you post in one of the Off Topic sub forums (e.g. Current Events), it doesn't change the 'last post' shown on the main page, which remains as the last one in Off Topic 'proper'. Just a wee trivial anomaly.

Something to keep in mind, too... a lot of people are having a lot of weird problems with Firefox 1.5 all over teh interwebs. There may be stuff that won't work properly for some of us until MozillaCorp whips up some fixin'.

Nothing has changed on the board that would cause this. Sounds like your login session is being expired. The default session time limit is 20 minutes. If you don't check the box to REMEMEBR ME then you will be logged out after 20 minutes if there's no activity.

Well, it's been happening to me; but I just ignore it and go to the board, so I guess it's just annoying. And I've been on the board waaaaay longer than 20 minutes. FYI.

FYI. | 20 minutes is the session, not how long you have been on the board. If you are not on the board for 20 minutes, it will automatically log you out unless you clicked the box that says Remember me. If you have that checked are you still getting kicked off?

For those of you having problems - has it ever worked properly? If so, when did it work properly, and did you by chance make any changes to your computer or to the browser during that time period.

This has been happening on my end as well---when I go to click remember me, it prompts right back to the login screen. But after going up to home or active topics, it shows that you are logged in. Didn't start til' last night...I was IM'ing with someone, who said, "I can't log onto the Zette!", so I buzzed over and the above mentioned started happening.

Wait a minute I think I know what's going on.
I created a redirect when you login. You login and then you get redirected back to the main page. HOWEVER, this should not effect your ability to login unless there's an oddity with a browser that I am not aware of.
For those of you having problems, what browser you using?
UPDATE - just in case the redirect is too fast, I changed the redirect time from 0 to 2 seconds.

Seems to be working fine now; and B... and I discovered we have the slowest computers on the board, with dial-up. Thanks.

Now ther'es something I didn't know. Redirect too fast, and slow connections are unable to create sessions. Very interesting...

UPDATE - just in case the redirect is too fast, I changed the redirect time from 0 to 2 seconds. | I'm at work, and it's still continuing to prompt me to log in after I've logged in. It's not instant now though; there's a very short delay, then up comes the prompt again. But since I know now that logging in is actually working it doesn't really matter, I suppose. I'm just using IE, same as at home. (I haven't tried it from home since this started happening to be honest, as I only bother to log in if I'm using PMs or want to post something... and that's pretty seldom). I don't use 'Remember Me' either at home or work, and would prefer not to. As I said before, it's no big deal now I know that I'm not constantly mistyping passwords and things all of a sudden (I was worried initially that I needed to be sent to a Home for the Easily Bewildered).
