I've decided to start this thread, cause i thought it would be nice to remind ourselves of some of the funniest scenes in Twin Peaks and laugh again :) and sure there are a lot! One of the funniest scenes to me is still the scene when Mike whispered something in Bobby's ear(i even started a thread about that:))) ) i laughed so much:)) .Bobby's reaction was very funny...the whole scene was funny. What about your favourite funny scenes? :)

There's plenty of great and funny scenes in Twin Peaks, but the first that I come to think of is when Andy finds out that his sperms is fine, and yell: I'm a whole damn town!

Priceless!

My favorite by far is the cooper and llama scene at the vet's office

Being a list maniac I will let myself rank the scenes according to their funniestness ;-)
(where the funniest get * * * * * but if they are even funnier than the funniest they might get * * * * * *)

The ones mentioned above are not among myu favourites though.

Bobby/ Mike/ Nadine (Ep.26)  * * * 1/2 , a nice scene but for me perhaps more nice than actually funny.

I'm a whole damn town (Ep.12) * * , sorry but it is one of the few classic scenes from Twin Peaks I don't like and one of the very few Andy scenes I don't like. It seems to me "funny" in the same way as the Mr Pinkle scene from the same episode. Nah.

Llama (Ep.4) * * * * , very good scene but I think it's overrated; I remember once discussing Ep.4 in detail - I was surprised to find it was many people's favourite from this episode. I cuold find at least four or five which I like better...

Time for my choices now so you can jump back on me and say they are stupid ;-)

The Andy Agent Rosenflower and board in the head scene (Ep.8) * * * * * *  PERFECT! A perfect balance between the Oliver and Hardy kind of humour (board), sophisticated word humour (Albert's law inforcement comment), absurd word humour (changing name to Rosenflower), all with great timing, and... added to it an unexpected side of the story when it turns out Andy's silliness reveals something very important.

And something less obvious - Ep.25 serves us with a whole lot of funny scenes (not so much apart from it perhaps but it is really funny). Most of all probably the food/ throw up situations when Harry rushes to the toilet LOL. Not worse than Llama in my book, so: * * * *

To be continued!

I agree with Kelly! The lamascene has always been my favourite, sometimes i have to watch it over and over again every time i watch tp, hehe...i just loooove coopers face. But i just love animals and the stupid (and cute of course) things they do sometimes. Like last week, me and my b went to see some elks and one of them stepped on his foot real hard without noticing, the elk just stood there chewing some apple while my b tried to push her away, I laughed til i cried (it was an 300 kilos elk)

anyhow, the lamascene is one of the best!

I think the first scene of episode 14 is really funny. Mike is repeating what he said in the last episode in an even darker and more theatrical tone: "A house... Made of wood! Surrounded by Trees!"

Always cracks me up.

"What credit card do you want to put that on?"
"Caash, prease."

Andy+board+bleeding nose=hilarity. :) Love that scene, "It's Agent ROSENFLOWER!"

The look on Cooper's face in the pilot as he looks Jacoby up and down, then, "That guy's a psychiatrist?" followed by Harry's soft, "Yeah."

The llama scene, right down to the intense stare followed by the SNORT!

When Coop comes in to go over things and Lucy, Andy and Harry are all eating a donut. "Three for three..." followed with, "I really have to urinate!" Harry just stands there and swallows his donut, with a "Holy S*it" expression on his face at Coop's mile-a-minute speech.

I always laugh when Harry beats the guard up at One Eyed Jack's and puts that blue ball in his mouth, then opens the doors with his head.

A pissed off Cooper getting woken up by the Icelanders and testily dictating to Diane.

Nothing tops Cooper's grin-and-thumbs-up after Harry's "two blocks up on Queer Street" line.  Kills me, every time.

Agree totally re: Llama scene in the vet's office.

However, and perhaps controversially (raises eyebrow wryly) I never fail to piss myself laughing in the pilot when Sarah Palmer starts screaming down the phone to Leland when she realises Laura is dead. I know it's meant to be heart wrenching and sad, but it's so melodramatic and OTT, and what with the mutha 'fro and stuff it just makes me laugh.

On the second day he came
With a single red rose
Said "Will you give me your loss and your sorrow?"
I nodded my head as I lay on the bed
He said, "If I show you the roses will you follow?"

On the third day he took me to the river
He showed me the roses and we kissed
And the last thing I heard was a muttered word
As he stood smiling above me
With a rock in his fist

They call me the wild rose
But my name was Eliza Day
Why they call me it I do not know
For my name was Eliza Day

After Andy's whacked himself in the face, near the end of the scene, he's shaking it off for a moment while still doing the marionette-walk -- he laughs for a couple of seconds and then his face just suddenly drops.

The llama scene, Dick's "supreme incongruity" speech, roughly 75% of Gordon's lines (but especially "antecdote"), Ed's hospital speech, and the shooting range scene all stand out for me.

yeah, perhaps even more funny is the Goodnight Princess scene from FWWM. And the funniest of all - and I mean ROTFL HA HA HA - is the scene in which Leland dies. I always laugh aloud when Leland syas the words "I loved her withh all my heart". It's soooo melodramatic.

Hey guys...i don't know how you feel about poor Sarah, but i cry every time I watch her screaming on the phone and crying so desperately...and all this combined with "Lauras's theme" sounding,it's very sad and not funny at all to me!

I thought of one more scene i find kind of funny :)) when Cooper sees the second diary of Laura(the one with the key) and Harry says "We're still looking for the key" , and then Cooper breaks it, LOL :)))))) Sometimes Harry really amazes me with his honesty and loyalty.I like him! He's so natural! :)

I always laugh in Fire Walk With Me, at that scene where Leo's showing Shelly how to clean the floor.  "The first thing you need to learn is to have a good attitude.  That's the key!" while smacking her on the back of the head.  What could be funnier?

About the Sarah-scene - i do cry sometimes to this scene too, but as soon as there's two or three others watching it with me, someone always starts to laugh and i cannot help myself! sorry!

Ivalinda, hope you know I was not... ehem.. serious in my previous post.

On with the funny scenes. Quoting rocksandbottles:

Andy+board+bleeding, "It's Agent ROSENFLOWER!"

* * * * * * , probably my number one 'hilarious scene' of Twin Peaks

Cooper/ pilot/ Jacoby, "That guy's a psychiatrist?" followed by Harry's soft, "Yeah."

* * * 1/2 , very good classic scene, perhaps a little too predictable. But acted well enough to forget it.

The llama scene, right down to the intense stare followed by the SNORT!

* * * * , I may not be a fan but it always works.

When Coop comes in to go over things and Lucy, Andy and Harry are all eating a donut. "Three for three..." followed with, "I really have to urinate!" Harry just stands there and swallows his donut, with a "Holy S*it" expression on his face at Coop's mile-a-minute speech.

* * * * * * ..... and that could well be my number two! I don't know which is the funniest - is it the contrast between everybody else eating and swallowing while Cooper keeps talking, or the contrast between Coop's quickmindness and the 'peasant policemen' slowliness, or between the graivty of the matter and Cooper's totally mundane need to urinate - but definitely it works brilliant on all levels!

Harry beats the guard up at One Eyed Jack's and puts that blue ball in his mouth, then opens the doors with his head.

* * * , nice one though perhaps makes a lesser impression compared to the one above ;-)

A pissed off Cooper getting woken up by the Icelanders and testily dictating to Diane.

* * * * * , great classic stuff, especially that there were quite a few of those Icelanders scenes. And then his happiness when it's all quiet :-))

Another fave...

THE FISH FLAVORED COFFEE!! "Fellas! Don't drink that coffee! You'd never guess...there was a fiiish...INNN the perc-o-lator." LOL His little, "Sorry..." the sheer horror/disgust on Coop's face *and Harry's, but mostly Coop's* is priceless.

Yee, I'm talking about that nervous laughing when noone knows how to react, cause there are too many around! The same laugh Grace herself talk about in the extras to the first season...and of course, no the scene is not funny at all - i guess the nervous laughing among others depends on how she looks or sounds...anyway i just wanted to say that i know what The Woman in Trouble mean...u c, even though i'm a fan, i can see thing from different perspectives, and some people just think this scene is hilarious, anyway...it's not a funny scene in the way u guys meant, so i'll drop it...

Of course Albert showing up in tp is one of the best, i just love him!

I didn't want to sound ironical, but that Leo-smacking-Shelly scene is really very funny,Leo's attitude to Shelly is funny...he really looks like a cartoon version of an abusive husband :))) well,to me it's funny, but ...poor Shelly...Jeez,I do not want such a husband! :))))
