QUOTE:The scenes where Bobby flirts with Audrey.  Think anything went on between those two? Bobby certainly was up for it.

"School numbs my buns, how about you?"  Still one of my favorite lines in the series.  I think if there'd been a third season we would have seen a Bobby/Audrey connection.

It's really bad taste, but Shelley's impression of Leland after the funeral at the diner counter always gets me laughing.

some lines that always get me laughing :

Gordon : COOPER, TODAY YOU REMIND ME OF A SMALL MEXICAN CHIHAUHAU.

Denise : I still put my panties on one leg at a time, if you know what i mean.

Cooper : Not really

Catherine : Benjamin Horne, you're a slimy rat-bastard. (her delivery on this line is what I find hilarious)

Piper Laurie has a very unique voice and way of speaking - I've never heard anything quite like it. It's also evident in The Hustler with Paul Newman

'However, and perhaps controversially (raises eyebrow wryly) I never fail to piss myself laughing in the pilot when Sarah Palmer starts screaming down the phone to Leland when she realises Laura is dead. I know it's meant to be heart wrenching and sad, but it's so melodramatic and OTT, and what with the mutha 'fro and stuff it just makes me laugh.'

oh, i well know what you mean. her screaming is damned melodramatic and that frizzy fro is truly over the top. i admit to laughing at many of sarah's screaming scenes.

it's pileated, isn't it?

Hehe, lilla seems you're not alone in your laughing on that scene ;) snog finds it funny, too ,but I still can't see what's so funny about it :) I cry every time I watch it,and that's why when I watch the series I often skip that one, cause sometimes I really can't take so much of sadness and sorrow, and the scene is really painful..(at least to me)

i do find odd things amusing [which are not intended to be so]. but i also understand how it feel to find a scene painful.  for example,i had downloaded some footage of a documentary or sorts of a musician and i feel more than a little tentative regarding perusing it. there is an awful scene which has been purported to have been cut out, but i worry that perhaps not enough of said scene will be deleted. it involves animals and i get very upset when an animal comes to harm.

regarding the scene with sarah palmer being funny, have any of you watched the interview with her when she talkes about it? apparantly lots of people find the scene funny, and she even says she played it within a fine line of doing it for laughs.

Well...I haven't seen that interview with her,but all I can say about Grace is that she is an awesome actress and performed that scene just great, just the way she had to play it...the way that every mother, who loses her precious only child would feel and react! Well done,Grace! It seems we have a different taste about what's funny and not :) maybe you all who consider it funny, just haven't felt it the way I did (and i believe many others,too)...There are a lot of really funny scenes in the show, but that one is definitely not one of them! So...I couldn't disagree more with you ! :) And one more thing...i can't imagine anyone laughing while listening to "Laura Palmer's theme" ...

i dont find the scene very funny either.  but you should understand that even though grace didnt play it all for laughs, she wasnt trying to be super serious and dramatic.  she says herself that she played it in part for laughs.  i think its in an interview on the first season set.

i see how James can be kinda "funny"...not funny, but maybe a bit too much, but who isn't a bit too much in TP? That's why I love alsmost every character in TP - the characters are, how do you say (?), exaggerated! And then I mean it in a good way, cause it's somehow not too much and not too little - just perfect!

Here are some of my fave moments:

The look on Andy's face as he dances with Denise.

The hug that happens at one point between Harry and Albert.

The speech Albert gives about Gandhi and his guiding principles. "I love you, Sheriff Truman"

The first scene with Snr Droolcup, ignoring the fact that Coop is on the floor bleeding.

Jeez, there are so many! I have to say that I thought almost every scene Grace Zabriskie did is hilarious.

to me the funniest characters are Albert, Lucy and Gordon. Every single thing they say is hilarious. Albert's mock crying at Ed's story and the mockery of Harry's "yeeeah" gets me every time. Lucy's response to Dick's abortion money "turn the KEEY". Gordon's "looks like a chess deal", "why don't you invite the sheriff on in".

I'm thinking either Liberace or Ted Nugent... Yanni or  Ozzie Osbourne?

That is why  episode !9 is so fun. It is an overlooked episode I think it is at least.
