I have to say, this is getting exciting!  Just thought I'd be the first to post about the inauguration.

i think the hardest part of being excited about a "new start" is knowing what to do to help the country. millitary service isn't for me, and charity work doesn't seem like it's very fruitful a lot of the time. what else can someone do?

Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one. :)

Buy every Dr. Who DVD. That'll stimulate the economy.

Or...

"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this."  -Dale Cooper

well there's THAT but it's like.,...ok, i bought a house in seattle last year. it's a nice little house, but the area is...to be charitable..."improving." there's CLEARLY a few drug houses, lots of do-rags, a lot of people don't take care of their yards, and if you park on the street you are begging to get your mirror sideswiped off. on the OTHER hand, there's a lot of young couples moving in and buying property, there's a lot of locally-owned businesses, and we're srsly like 5-10 minutes from downtown seattle. i want to do more to help my community, but....???

I can't believe how many people where there.  I have friends who work in TV out in DC and they have said that for the past two weeks or so, it's been crazy.  It is a pretty cool thing, the inaugration of a president.

Who are the comedians and late night talk show hosts going to make fun of now since the new President is off limits?

Congratulations America! Today is a great day indeed. When I visited New York in November it was a couple of days after the election results and there was an overwhelming feeling of optimism and hope everywhere we visited. Watching today's inauguration was a truly moving experience, history in the making!

I Like this quote I dislike this quote“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”

That was the amusing thing about conservative cartoons regarding the big 3's bailout.
Cartoonist: Ugh, fuck you working man.
Republican party: Vote for us working man
