Michael Crichton -- Liked The Andromeda Strain as a kid...Barry Levinson's Disclosure was okay and Sphere was decent...Congo was horrible but not much worse than Pet Sematary, Jurassic Park, then you have Carrie, Christine and The Shining (which is nothing like the book), so I would say they are dead even.

David Lean: The Bridge on the River Kwai or Lawrence of Arabia?

Audrey, Audrey, Audrey. I love Katherine Hepburn, and she totally kicked ass, but the romantic part of me wins this one.

Do you watch a film a number of times, or is once generally enough?

Hmm .. split down the middle. Films I find agreeable I'll watch again and again over the years. However, 'generally', as you say, once tends to be enough. There is a great deal of dross out there.

Once is generally enough.

Black and white films or films with subtitles?

Beauty is momentary in the mind -
The fitful tracing of a portal;
But in the flesh it is immortal.
The body dies; the body's beauty lives.
So evenings die, in their green going,
A wave, interminably flowing.
So gardens die, their meek breath scenting
the cowl of winter, done repenting.
So maidens die, to the auroral
Celebration of a maiden's choral.
Susanna's music touched the bawdy strings
Of those white elders; but, escaping,
Left only Death's ironic scraping.
Now in its immortality, it plays
On the clear viol of her memory,
And makes a constant sacrement of praise.

('Peter Quince at the Clavier' by Wallace Stevens)

Raging Bull.

Choose Rowan Atkinson's (a.k.a. Mr. Bean) best performance in the last 10 years between these two films, which i found to be the most remarkable: Bean or Keeping Mum.

As Sunset Blvd. has really influenced Lynch, I'll go with that 'un. (Besides, I can't spell SINGLE Indemnity, much less DOUBLE. Hey, wait a minute)   Jailhouse Rock or King Creole?

Dracula!

Taxi driver or The Assassination of Richard Nixon?

Note: the second is not a remake, it's just very similar.
