| QUOTE: I saw that movie. I thought all the verbal attacks on anteaters were wholly unwarranted. God, I wish someone would start rerunning those again. Watching them on Youtube just isn't the same. The whole rights issue is a doozy, though.
There Will Be Blood I finally got to see it. Though I suffered a bit from the overhype that I had been buffeted with since last fall, I appreciated the bravura filmmaking. PTA wears his influences (Altman, Kubrick) on his sleeve a bit, but he's forged a pretty unique style that stays with you. I've seen two of his films, now. I liked this one.
| Almost didn't see There Will Be Blood, mainly because I thought it was a health issues film for pubescent girls....

The Hidden
Eh, nothing much to say about this one, didn't leave much of an impression other than wanting to say: damn they stole a lot from this to make Twin Peaks.

Nice to see people are out there viewing the work of one of the most underrated sci-fi/fantasy directors of all time, Jack Sholder. What? No, I'm not just saying that to get an A in Nonlinear Editing next semester. What do you think I am, some kind of sycophant?

Beerfest & The Lives of Others
West Germany sure seemed like a better place to live in. But the specter of the DDR helped to make the better movie. Seriously, it's a good movie, not just in contrast with Beerfest, which was shit.
Scary Movie 4
I actually found part 3 to be quite funny, but this is, uh, not, I guess.

Sex and Death 101, from the writer of Heathers, was pretty fun.

Moment by Moment Had to give this a second viewing after all these years to see if it was really as bad as I remembered. Yep. John Travolta and Lily Tomlin play lovers who look like each other. This film is so wrong in so many ways. Maybe the worst big studio film of all time.

Last night I saw the movie Teeth. It was released about a year ago. It's a horror/drama/black comedy about a girl with teeth in her vagina. It was entertaining, but I felt it took itself too seriously at points. Come on, the girl has teeth in her vag.

i saw Wal-E over the three day weekend. I thought it was pretty good. The environmental message was a bit heavy handed, the kind where you can't help but roll your eyes. What I found most entertaining and endearing was the relationship between Wal-E and Eva. It was handled very well and was incredibly sweet. And this is between robots! I went in expecting something cute but it ended up being a pretty touching, sweet, optimistic film. -Req

I thought this film was excellent. Well crafted and original horror film. You could call me a fan.

You, the Living
Similar in structure to Songs from the Second Floor, but less of a gloomy punch in the gut. It is on the other hand less focused, scenes go on for too long and many of them are just boring. The high point, and it is something everyone should see, is the *spoiler*dream sequence where a man is sentenced to death for botching the old tablecloth trick*spoiler*.

Mulberry Street - It is like a really low budget 28 Days. I thought it was okay. Other people seem to love it.

Hellboy II. Better than #1 (which I loved), the new creatures seem to reflect similar types in Pan's Labyrinth. My whistle is appropriately moistened for Dark Knight...

I saw Anton Corbijn's Control, and it was pretty alright. It wasn't epic, it was kept to a human scale, and it was interesting to see another group of four guys playing Joy Division in a movie. Didn't give me the sense of place that 24 Hour Party People did, though. Without an interest in Ian Curtis, it's possible the film might not stand up quite as well.

Elevator to the Gallows or, en francais... something else. Louis Malle's brilliant first film. A pure pleasure from the opening je t'aime out of Jeanne Moreau's full lips through to the fin with lots of twists and turns along the way. What fun! So much better than that crappy Breathless. I miss Louis Malle.

The Singing Detective Probably one of if not the best televison series in its conception. Unfortunately it isn't really interesting to look at, I'm not a fan of the Britain around WWII aesthetic or the music used. But the script is top notch.

Mad Money, LOL. There wasn't much in Red Box. This movie is good to watch if you have nothing else to do and there isn't a good rerun on TV. Katie Holmes was cute and the movie was okay, but not great. It seems like a movie that you would watch at work if you have one of those jobs were you watch TV all day. I've had jobs like that before.

Some security jobs are like. Also taking care of the elderly or mentally challenged people on the night shift in a home like sitting. Every state is different in what is required to work these types of jobs. it is only the night shift though, some of the day shifts you will be doing a lot of work. I have even seen some jobs where your title is sleep position. You come in and sleep and then leave. It is because the state says someone has to be in the house and it is someone who really does not need much help. Some night shift cleaning jobs are like that as well. You can usually get all the work done at these jobs in two hours and the rest of the time you are just there if the clients need help. Except for some of the cleaning jobs. It still only takes about two hours but then you are just there.

You're welcome. In the home setting. You will usually have 1 - 3 clients in that type of setting. And it does depend on the client with how much work you do and how much TV and reading books you do. :)

Does anyone watch movie based on if someone here liked them? Such as when people sometimes wait to read a review by their favorite critic before they go see a movie. The only time I've personally had a run in with this was the one and probably only time Susan let me recommend a movie to her.

Possession
Every single adult character in this movie is a creep. Creepy creeps, except for Adjani's double and the humorously creepy detective who is so unsubtle when he's creeping around. The movie is pretty creepy too since no one acts like a real person, and there are liquids everywhere.
